Awesome use it everyday for my work.

by:

I bought the spring kit to put on my home built trailer that I put my old heavy slide-in camper on. It more than met my expectations. There was no sway at 75mph or on the 5 mile trail back to camp.

by:

It was easy to install, and had all the parts I needed.
The trailer rolls down the road nice.
This helped me get a barn find trailer back on the road.

by:

Had what I needed to repair my trailer. Shipping was faster than expected. The kit should contain bushing for the springs as well. Also an option for the greaseable pins.

by:

We summer at a remote cabin in the Gila Nat'l Forest above Silver City NM. The last 5 miles to the cabin is extremely rough and puts a lot of wear and tear on both my truck and my trailer that we use to transport water, food, building materials and supplies to the cabin on a twice a month schedule. I have had suspension springs break, blown tires and damaged coupler. I ordered this kit to replace the entire hanger assembly because of wear and tear, cracks and loose fittings. I had to re-enforce the frame and weld up some cracks and wear points. The kit was great and worked perfect. The trailer is now like new and will serve me for years to come.

by:

Excellent experience. My order shipped and arrived extremely fast and the customer support team was kind professional and promp in answering any questions I had.

by:

I'm building a trailer for a gutter machine from scratch. And the parts that I got from e-trailer are exactly what I needed, and on top of that they got to my house 3 days earlier than they were suppose to. I know where to order again if I need some more parts in near future ;) thank you guys

by:

I think these Trailer spring hangers are working out very well. Can’t wait to test it out on the road. I’m building a 7000 lbs GVWR trailer to mount a generator on.

by:

I had a trailer with a suspension that needed new bushing and rocker arm. I looked on line and decided on the parts I needed. I called my order in on Sunday evening and explained I needed the parts ASAP.
The parts were sent to UPS Sunday evening. I received the parts about 2:00 Wednesday. I have already installed the parts. The suspension is back like new now.

I received my order very fast. The quality is excellent and everything that I expected. What is also impressive is that if you have questions about setting up your axle kit, etrailer has printable instructions right on their website that will make installation simple.

by:

Perfect fit. No problems.

by:

My flatbed trailer is a 1998 and the suspension and wheels were suffering from Pa's use of salt brine on the roads. The wheels had holes rusted through them! Decided it was time to repair the trailer. Got new wheels and suspension parts from E-trailer. Got my parts fast at a good price and well on my way to having a reliable trailer again. Great service and will do business again!

Randy

  • Determining Center Line of Spindle When Installing Timbren Axle-Less System
A good way for determining the correct axle placement and spindle centerline when installing a Timbren Axle-Less System like # ASR3500S06 is to attach a plumb bob to each spindle and at the coupler. This will give you a vertical reference line to use when measuring from the coupler and from each spindle, making sure you get that perfect triangle between the 3 components. You can also use a leveling laser the same way. I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference....

  • Does Trailer Suspension 7-3/4 Inch Equalizer EQ-E1 Have a Weight Capacity
Equalizer # TREQE1 does not have a weight capacity itself. It isn't bearing much of the weight compared to other components in a trailer suspension set up. If you have a tandem axle trailer then you could potentially use kit # APT5, # APT3, # APT9, # APT8, # APT7, or # APT3HD. All of these kits have the 7-3/4 inch long equalizers. For a triple axle trailer you could use # APTT5 or # APTT3. All of the above kits also come with hangers. If you do not need hangers then you would need to...

  • Replacement Suspension Parts for 18 Utility Trailer
If you have a serial number on your trailer axle or a plate or sticker on it that will list the VIN number, you can completely confirm your axle capacity but a 3" axle measurement would usually indicate a 5,200lbs or 6,000lbs axle. The Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double Eye Springs # APT5 would be a sufficient capacity kit this application. For leaf springs, #PR4 is for a 4,000lb axle and maybe underrated. The 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles is also 25-1/4"...

  • Why do Some Trailer Suspension Kits Have Longer Equalizer Hangers
The reality is that not every manufacturer makes their suspension kits to the same standard sizes. Some use taller hangers with wider equalizers and some might use a taller equalizer with a shorter center hanger. It really just comes down to the preference of the manufacturer and what gives them the ride height and distance between tires that works the best for them. Also the fact that some trailer leaf springs happen to be longer or shorter plays into what is best solution as well. Ideally...

  • Do the Equalizers in Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APT5 Come with Bushings in Place
Yes, the equalizers included in the referenced Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APT5 do come with nylon shackle bolt bushings already in place. These accept 9/16-inch diameter shackle bolts such as # 166081. I have linked two articles concerning trailer suspension that may be useful to you.

  • Why Are Axles on Horse Trailer Further Back
There are a couple reasons why you typically see the axles on a horse trailer further back than on a standard cargo or flatbed trailer. The first reason is to try and maintain the trailer's weight distribution as best as possible during travel. Since horses may move around a bit or sit down, having a shorter rear overhang helps to keep everything more stable. This shorter overhang also helps when it's time for the horses to climb in for their ride. Since the rear won't move as much...

  • Spacing Measurements for Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit APT5 & Spring e27SR
When setting up a new trailer suspension it is best to do a mock-up (by clamping or tack welding the parts in place) to allow you to see how the system functions. There are so many variables that is best to test. Typical spacing dimensions for 25-1/8-inch springs are shown in the chart on the page for # APT5. Since the springs you intend to use, 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e27SR, are 7/8-inch longer than those listed in the chart, you will want to increase the hanger spacing approximately...

  • What Rough Hanger Spacing Should Tandem Axle Trailer with 25-1/4" Springs Have?
Assuming you're using a 7-3/4" equalizer like what's included in the Hanger Kit # APT5, your hangers should be roughly 29-1/2" between the front and center hangers, and also 29-1/2" between the center and rear hangers. With a 7-3/4" equalizer and 25-1/4" spring this would give you 33" axle spacing which is pretty standard. Keep in mind this is not an exact thing, you really want the shackles on the equalizer to be shaped like a W shown in the picture below, and you may need to move the...

  • Determining Axle Position on Sailboat Trailer
In general when positioning a trailer axle you just want to make sure that roughly 10 to 15 percent of the total weight (with the boat loaded) is placed on the tongue. Typically on boat trailers this means the axle(s) will be set further back than on a traditional trailer because the back of the boat is usually heavier. Getting the ideal placement usually takes a bit of trial and error so it might be a bit difficult to get everything set up perfectly before actually having the sailboat...

  • Parts Needed to Turn Single Axle Trailer Into Tandem Axle Trailer
There is not going to be a kit, per se, to make your single axle trailer a tandem axle trailer because not all trailers are created equal. The first thing you'll need is the measurement of your current axle from hub face to hub face, and then spring seat center to spring seat center; this will determine whether or not you'll be able to use a stock axle or need a custom ordered one. Hey Eugene, you'd want a distance of 54-1/4 inches from the front to rear hanger centers. Basically to ensure you get the right shackle angle you need the distance between the spring hanger bolt center and equalizer bolt center to be about 1/8 inch less than the spring length.
