Rubber Equalizers Absorb Road Shock and Reduce Chucking

Rubber Equalizer Vs Standard Equalizer

Hauling a trailer that's still equipped with standard steel equalizers is bound to produce a less-than-ideal towing experience. This is because those standard equalizers allow the road shock from your trailer to transfer directly to your tow vehicle, resulting in a rough, bumpy ride.

In addition, road shock can put added stress on your trailer's frame, suspension, running gear, and more, all of which can lead to increased maintenance time and cost. It can also cause damage to the contents of your trailer due to constant chucking and jerking. And the last thing you want is for your electronics to be tossed around inside your RV before you set up camp, or for your horse to get jostled around as you bring him home from the show.

These rubber equalizers help to solve those problems. When road shock occurs while hauling your trailer, the rubber inserts absorb and dampen the vibration and bounce, resulting in a less bumpy ride. The inserts also absorb the back-and-forth movement to reduce chucking and jerking so that you don't get thrown around inside your cab.

CRE3000 Rubber Insert

Each of these equalizers also offers up to 3" of up-and-down travel. The more travel your suspension has, the better it is able to compensate for road shock. When you hit a pothole, for example, these equalizers allow your suspension to account for that dip on one side so that the opposite wheels aren't forced to compensate. As a result, you'll get a smoother ride, even when you're driving over uneven campground roads or speed bumps.

Easy Installation

These equalizers directly replace your trailer's factory equalizers, so installation is straightforward. Simply remove the shackle links from your factory equalizer and the shoulder bolt from the frame hanger. Remove the factory equalizer and replace it with the MORryde rubber equalizer.

MORryde Shackle Upgrade Kit

You can reuse your existing hardware with these equalizers, but we recommend using MORryde's suspension upgrade kit (sold separately). Factory shackle links wear out pretty quickly and easily, so replacing them with MORryde's thick, heavy-duty shackle links will save you the time and effort of having to frequently replace them. Not to mention you'll get easy-to-grease bolts and long-lasting bronze bushings with the kit for a totally upgraded setup.

This really helped smooth out the ride while towing. I installed this with the wet bolt kit and heavy duty shackles. No more popping sounds from the suspension.

by:

Ordered these a few days ago ,arrived as scheduled , was surprised by the ease of installing the MORryde Shock Absorbing Equalizers, along with their shackle upgrade kit. Time will tell!!

by:

Compared to the stock suspension and wetbolts....MORryde has them beat. Glad I did the upgrade. There were other options but I choose these products due to price, availability, and recognition in the community. etrailer....thanks.

by:

Shipped in a timely manner, parts were packaged good and delivered undamaged. Looking forward to install soon as MoRryde CRE 3000 looks much more heavy duty than what was originally installed by Grand Design.

by:

Great product, definitely a huge upgrade from the standard equalizers that come from factory on most RVs. Easy to install. Could tell a big difference when towing RV on our next trip after installation, bounce and swaying were very minimal with new MORryde Equalizers.

by:

This was a exact replacement for the pair on my 2021 Grand Design Solitude. The suspension on my 5th wheel was totally shot in 2 years!I had to replace all the springs wet bolts and these equalizers. Thanks to etrailer that they carry these parts that are an exact replacement. Thanks to Tammie P who was very helpful in ordering the parts!

It is so great to hear your experience with etrailer was a good one! The kind words are always nice to hear, so I will make sure Tammie sees this, too.

by:

I haven't installed the parts as of yet but will be next week. I opened the package and found exactly what was ordered. I don't anticipate any installation issues.

Thank you.

by:

I bought these equalizers and installed them on my boat with 33” wheel base. Because of the HI QUALITY I have now ordered these for a 38’ toy hauler with 35” wheel base. The wet bolt kit is a much to have prolong early wear and tear. Great products and great customer service

by:

The details provided on packaging and shipping including employee pics with who is responsible for each step is pretty cool. The parts I ordered were packaged well with no damage to package! Free shipping, great customer service, I’ll be back to etrailer.com again! These are quality parts and a solid upgrade due to the many miles I put on my RV.

by:

Everything arrived quickly and packaged well. I installed this on my 2006 14’ Haulmark cargo trailer. Installation was straightforward. Removing the original hardware was more time consuming than anticipated but overall it was a quick project.

by:

Great improvement over factory equalize rs!

by:

Timely delivery and the product was received as expected. Thank you Etrailer

by:

Made a noticeable difference in how the trailer rides. Well worth the money and work to install.

by:

Noticeably difference pulling my GD 337 RLS in a good way. Bushing in old suspension system where shot. Happy with decisions going with moryde

by:

Worked great pulling our unit 3000 miles. Not bad installing them.

by:

Great product and great service. Something you can expect from etrailer.

by:

great product and your staff was very knowledgeable and helpful I have told many friends about it and I will use your company again when needed

by:

I purchased the MORryde CRF 3000 equalizers for my 2019 Reflection 5th wheel. Installation was easy and within a couple of hours had both of them installed. My wife and I immediately felt a smoother ride going down the street.

by:

During one of our longer trips one of the spring shackles wore through and disengaged. At this time the spring end became pinned against the frame held in place by a aluminum angle iron I installed to hold the underbelly secure. The only thing that kept the suspension from collapsing completely was plates i had welded to close the ends of the spring hangers to prevent the ears from breaking apart. I pulled the trailer several hundred miles until excessive tire wear made me aware of the damage. Ruined a new set of Goodyear Endurance St’s. The MORryde shackles are so much thicker and the wet bolts ease the wear as the replaced spring bolts were showing lots of wear. All this provides peace of mind going down the road.

by:

Everything was as expected and shipping was very quick!!

by:

Smooth ride and more flex over rough terrain …. No wear and easy to maintain

by:

havent used it yet

by:

Working just fine

by:

thought I would try these out looks like they should smooth out the ride. good quality and look nice

by:

Haven't installed yet but seems to be good quality

  • Replacement MORryde CRE3000 Rubber Equalizers on a Montana Mountaineer 5th Wheel
To replace the Equa-Flex Equalizers on your 2010 Montana Mountaineer you are going to want the MORryde Rubber Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers item # MR87ZR. These have nearly identical dimensions and will work great as both a replacement and an upgrade. The MORryde is 6-1/2" on center from the front shackle bolt to the center of the rear shackle bolt. The height is 3-1/8" from the equalizer mounting bolt to the center line of the shackle bolts. I have linked a diagram with the dimensions...

  • How Do I Measure Axle Spread for Upgrading The Trailer Equalizers?
Yes, axle spread and wheel base by definition are the same measurements. You will measure from the center of one axle to the center of the 2nd axle to determine what you axle spread is. This may be difficult as some wheels and covers will make this harder to determine. You can also measure from common points in reference to the axle. Such as the front of the front axle tube to front of the 2nd axle tube or front of front tire to front of rear tire. If you do that you will want to be sure...

You'd know if you had them or if you had them installed so since you aren't sure what they are I'd assume you don't and instead the wet bolt and shackle kit you'd want is the part # MR76ZR. This will work great with the MORryde Shock Absorbing Equalizers part # MR27ZR as well.

Awesome! It sounds like you are definitely on the right track here. The leaf springs # e22YR will work perfectly at 26" long and should be a bit of an upgrade from the current spring. The Moryde equalizers # MR27ZR are also a great choice. Now we cannot always go off of the wheelbase to determine fitment.
