Absorbs Road Shock and Reduces Chucking

Upgrade your trailer's suspension for a smoother ride with these cushioned Equa-Flex equalizers. These units deliver a ride as smooth as you'd get with torsion axles, but at a fraction of the cost. The rubber cores effectively absorb vibrations and bumps and reduce the back-and-forth movement known as chucking. Unlike standard cast equalizers, the Equa-Flex's rubber cores soak up this energy like a sponge instead of transferring it to your trailer and cargo. The result is a more comfortable ride with less wear and tear on your trailer.

Easy Installation

Illustration of a tandem axle trailer suspension system

It's easy to upgrade your trailer's standard suspension with a set of cushioned Equa-Flex equalizers. You will need 10 standard suspension bolts and 8 shackle straps (each sold separately) to incorporate the equalizers into your trailer's suspension system. Two of the suspension bolts will be used to suspend the equalizers from the center hangers, and the other 8 bolts will be used with the shackle straps to attach the equalizers to the double-eye leaf springs. If you would like to replace the bolts that attach the springs to your front and rear hangers as well, you will need 4 additional suspension bolts (sold separately).

I was able to install these myself. Was super easy once I got my trailer jacked up! I replaced the equalizers and the leaf springs at the same time. We are getting ready to take it out next week! They performed great last year and I felt the trailer rode better with these on!

Still working great! Thanks!

Ordering my parts from etrailer was a joy. They helped in every way they could. Received my parts on the day they said. Havent had time to put them on yet. Tickeld pink with etrailers service. Not the first time we have bought from them.

by:

This was a great upgrade. I installed myself, the only issue I had was getting them lined up with the leaf spring. However, I got it figured out and the opposite side went much faster. I think the trailer pulls much better and you don't get the bounce after hitting a bump, RR tracks etc.. Glad that I made this upgrade. If I had one negative, it would be the packaging, the powder coat on one was scratched through.

by:

First I must say what great customer service I received when I called to order the Equa-flex for my trailer. I talked to Rose in sales and she helped me pick the right suspension enhancements for my trailer. I installed the Equa-flex 5-6k and the Dexter heavy duty shackle kit on my 30' 2016 Forrest River Wildwood. The kit and the instructions were easy to read and understand. The kit is definitely an upgrade over the stock suspension, just look as t the pictures I provided. The trailer rides smooth and handles great. I will be installing the Equa-flex kit and shackle kik it on my Dads trailer this year. Thanks Etrailer for your great products and customer service.

by:

Great product. My camper came with these when I purchased it new in 2012. I had a leaf spring break on our last trip and decided to replace the equalizers while replacing the springs. They do a great job with absorbing shock from rough roads which improves handling and track of the camper. I recommend this product and I recommend etrailer.com. Prices and selection are good and the fast, free shipping is definitely a huge plus. Attached are photos of the installation which include pics of the old ones that I replaced.

I needed to replace everything (suspension) on my 45 year old trailer. The equa-flex equalizers appeared to be an upgrade over standard type equalizers. It seems to tow better and smoother. Replaced leaf springs and all associated shackles with greasable shackle bolts. The MORyde shackle kit did not work for my application - the shackles were too long, went back standard length shackles for the correct angles on the equalizers. My trailer weighs around 6500 lbs., we’ll see how the equa-flex units hold up. Overall, I would recommend this product. etrailer was great to deal with.

by:

I had a challenging situation regarding a replacement Axle Equalizer from year 2011 and between the Tech side and Parts, they were able to help me.

by:

The operator was very helpful getting me the correct Equalizers. They help the trailer ride much smoother.

by:

I received my Equa-flex cushioned equalizers along with the Never-Fail bushing kit both by Lippert. I did take delivery as projected by etrailer and have had them installed on my 5th wheel. So far, they are performing well and have given me peace of mind as we prepare to embark on a 10 - 15K trip to the west and northwest U.S. from Florida.
etrailer services and tech center were excellent. Cathy T.is exceptional!

Still going strong. We are considering more suspension enhancement in the future. etrailer will be our primary resource.

by:

They work as described............ Planned on installing "Never Fail Bushing" in place of the Bronze factory installed ones...............NOT POSSIBLE. The inside diameter of the bushing hole is undersized and not 11/16"............ Kind of disappointing. What do I do later when the Bronze bushings wear out??? Buy another set of equalizers??

Leroy,I contacted Lippert and it is possible to change out the integrated bronze bushings for never fail bushings on the sides of the equalizer. The original bushings can be switched out for 11/16 bushings.

23k miles last summer AL l Western U.S. Worked fine. Who knows how much better ride would be. Can't ride in tt to check.

John W.

From the trip to Alaska and back with the incredible amount of potholes and frost heaves, tt handled it fine due to these equalizers keeping it from shaking apart. Only one loose trim screw in 40k miles. Highly recommended for any tt. Well worth the expense.

by:

Installed them myself in a few hours. They are fantastic, work great, no problems.

by:

I purchased this product to upgrade my suspension on a brand new travel trailer that I was going to pull to Alaska. I had heard that the roads could be a bit rough and hard on trailer suspensions and did not want to break anything because of the relative inflexibility of the stock system. The product was super easy to install, but I ended up using the longer shackle brackets that were in the suspension upgrade I purchased because I could not get the stock length brackets to line up correctly with the leaf springs. This resulted in a lot more suspension travel than I was anticipating, but seemed to do no harm as a result.

The trailer pulled wonderfully all the way to Alaska and back, and did not result in any major upheavals within the trailer. The extra flexibility in the suspension did make it a bit trickier to level the trailer however, requiring greater block thickness on the side that needed to be raised. But ultimately this was no big deal.

Ultimately I can only imagine how the stock system would have performed, and my imagination suggests that it would have not been a pretty sight inside the trailer.

by:

Easy to install. Raised the frame an inch. Much better than plastic bushings. Stouter system overall. Great investment

by:

The Equa-Flex equalizers are a nice upgrade from original cast rigid equalizers that came on our Forest River trailer. They help absorb road bumps into the chassis and interior of our travel trailer.

by:

The equalizer and shackle kit were excellent quality and easy to install on 5th wheel. Everyone at etrailer was very helpful and concerned about my receiving parts on time. We were on the road at the time and thanks to their efforts we were back on the road in 3 days. By the way, I installed these myself at the campground!

by:

Product arrived on time and in good condition. Installation is no problem, took about 2 hours. Test drove unit about 30 miles after installation. Must drive more miles before I can rate performance of the product.

Works good trailer seems to ride better

by:

Trailer rides much better and suspension is quiet. Also recommend installing with wet bolts.

by:

Works just as I'd hoped. Easy install and trailer rides much smoother. I installed on a tandem boat trailer and really helped out a lot!

by:

We are so happy to learn about etrailer from our friend. Our experience ordering from etrailer was so pleasant working with Crystal. She was very knowledgeable and everything that we needed to replace the springs on our trailer and recommended items that we would need to make our installation perfect! Thank you so much for being available. We will definitely recommend etrailer to our friends and family.

by:

Great product, great company to deal with. Install was a little challenging but worth it I hope. Took trailer for a test run after install, trailer rode smoother. The only thing i could add would be, if I have 2-1/4” shackle plates I don’t need the 3-1/4” plates, maybe reduce the cost a little.

by:

Ordering was easy and pain free. Shipping happened fast and the tracking was excellent. The correct parts arrived. It will be a few weeks before the parts are installed so I cannot rate them as to performance but when I do it will not have any bearing on the performance of etrailer.com as they did not make or brand them.

by:

Excellent shipping the product was pretty easy to install I have not pulled it anywhere yet I installed them on my 40 foot fifth wheel RV going November on a trip can’t wait to see had it Does thanks etrailer

by:

The Equa-flex system that I installed seems to live up to what is advertised the ride on the trailer is more stable and less abrasive.

by:

Looks like a nice product, but I was told that bolts and bushing would be included. The bushings appear to be installed, but there are no bolts leaving me short 6 bolts, 3 per side. Now i will need to order six more bolts or find them locally to finish my project. Those of you buying this product you will need to buy the center hanger bolt and the two shackle mount bolts per side.

  • Recommended Cushioned Equalizers for a Coachmen Chaparral Lite Fifth Wheel
Yes, we do have cushioned equalizers for a Coachmen Chaparral Lite Fifth Wheel but you'll need to know the length of the existing to get the correct one. That said, all you need to do is measure the distance between the two bolt holes across, if it's 5-1/2" then I recommend the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers part # LC279687 or if it's 7-1/2" then I recommend the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers part # LC279688. The 5-1/2" spread is typically for smaller 3,500 lb axles and the larger 7-1/2"...

MORryde does have a suspension upgrade kit that I highly recommend. It comes with 1/2" thick shackles, along with wet bolts and bronze bushings. You will want to choose a kit based on the length of your current shackles. For 2-1/4" you need the # MR46ZR and for 3-1/8" the # MR76ZR. For replacement leaf springs you will need to know your axle capacity along with your spring eye to spring eye measurement. • Solution to Cushion Ride Quality of Tandem Trailer with 2 inch Wide Leaf Springs
None of the upgraded equalizer kits we offer fit with leaf springs that are 2 inches wide like you have so your best option would be a shock kit like the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers # RM-2460 instead to cushion your trailer's ride quality. This actually will do a better job to smooth out the ride quality of a trailer than equalizer upgrades and is compatible with 3 inch diameter axles like what you most likely have based on the capacities of the equalizer kits you were looking at.
