Corrosion Resistance for Marine Use

This trailer hub assembly has a zinc coating that resists corrosion, making it a great choice for use on your boat or snowmobile trailer. Galvanized steel is durable enough to last in freshwater environments, but it can be used on trailers that come into limited contact with saltwater as well.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

With the outer bearing races already installed, it was very easy to complete the assembly of the new hub. It took less than 10 minutes to add the rear inner bearing, tap in the rear dust shield, add the front inner race, install on the spindle, add grease and screw on the retaining nut. with the addition of the cotter pin and a dust cap the whole installation went without a hitch.

The hubs have performed wonderfully. Loaded up the trailer with a Farmall Cub and haul it several hundred miles with no problems

by:

I purchased new bearings, hubs, brake rotor hubs, brake pads, grease caps with rubber inserts, wheels with tires mounted, center caps and lug nuts. All of it was shipped and received in 4 days with free shipping. I have made many large purchases from etrailer and referred them to many people. They have always been great to work with. The quality is very good and don't have one bad thing to say against them. They are my go to store for my utility trailer, enclosed trailer, camper, boat, and truck. Thanks etrailer!!

by:

I am reviewing the components and etrailer as they are not installed yet. Online ordering was easy - I was contacted immediately with shipping time and tracking numbers - it all went really well. The components showed up on time and in good condition. The boxes were a little hammered but UPS does that. Thanks etrailer good service - good prices: what else do you want?

No problem there all working great

  • Replacement Hub for Magic Tilt Trailer with Bearings L68149 L44649
Based on your wheel bolt pattern and your bearing info the correct idler hub you would need is the part # Q-HUB84545 that you referenced. While your axle capacity does appear to be higher than what your spindles was designed for this would be the highest capacity hub solution that would fit.

  • Can Galvanized Dexter 3,500 lb Hub 8-248-50 be Used on EZ Lube Spindle
Yes, the Kodiak Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # Q-HUB84545 that you referenced is perfectly compatible with EZ lube spindles. The only difference between the hubs that are EZ lube and non-EZ lube is the cap style. So for an EZ lube style cap that fits this hub you'd just need the part # DC200L-DCRP and you'd be set.

  • Hub for E-Z Lube Spindle on Boat Trailer

You are also going to want to remove the hub and take a look at the bearing numbers to make sure your inner and outer bearings are # L44649. Normally that would be enough, but since you sanded the spindle, I also recommend you use a digital caliper such as # PTW80157 and measure the spindle...

  • Recommended Replacement For A Tie-Down Engineering Disc Brake Hub
I will start by saying that your TDE 11033L hub uses the # L68149 inner bearing and # L44649 outer bearing, which means you have a pretty standard #84 spindle on a 3,500 pound axle. With that said, we do not carry Tie Down Engendering products, so the actual hub will cause some difficulties. Especially being oil bath as hubs for this size axle were only ever really done by TDE. Just as an example, if you look at the Kodiak Trailer Hub # Q-HUB84545 that will fit the Kodiak 10" Rotor # KR10D,...
