E-Trailer fits like a glove and is so easy to install. Thanks

The hitch adapter and 90 degree mount solved my desire to mount my electric wench on my auto trailer replacing the manual wench. See photo.

The 2" sleeve would not come out of the existing 2" receiver so I used the hitch adapter to make the transition. The etrailer experts correctly told me there would be some play in this joint. However, it works here (as this is not for towing).

I also used the 90 degree mount upside down (also not an approved application). But again no towing is involved. I did need to drill a new hole in the receiver.

All the parts ordered are of great quality and fit properly. Packaging needs work. The original box was ripped open and had been taped back together by the shipper(UPS). The hitch was still secure but the tow bar was loose and the pin and clip were missing. etrailer sent another pin and clip.
In the future possibly adding some fiber tape would lessen the chance of boxes being mangled.

It worked great. Leveled out the trailer perfect. Thanks again for your help, good product, and prompt delivery.

great

by:

Good quality, but it turns out its too big for the cargo basket and 1 1/4 trailer hitch I had installed.

by:

Hitch looks good, Haven't used it yet but am sure it will be fine. However, I ordered 2 different sizes of pins. Was supposed to get 1 small pin (1/2") for the 1-1/4"x 1-1/4" part of the hitch and 1 large (5/8") pin for the 2"x 2" part of the hitch. What I got were 2 large (5/8") pins.

I have bought two trailer hitches and a cargo carrier. And, have been extremely pleased with all three. They are easy to install and high quality products.

We just wanted to tell you how much we appreciated your customer service. We were called Sunday evening, the day after Christmas, and told that the clip my husband had ordered wouldn't work with the other parts.
#1 We were surprised that anyone would be working the day after Christmas on a Sunday evening.
#2 A real person was looking at the order and realized the components ordered wouldn't work together.
#3 The real person called and corrected the ordered parts.
In these days of having to work our way through phone keyboard selections and live chat with computers, it was refreshing to have an actual person catch the problem ahead of sending us an unworkable element, calling us about it, and correcting the problem. We're leaving for FL for the winter on Friday and are planning on taking our bikes. The wrong part would have made our hitch unusable, thus forcing us to leave the bikes at home. With no time to order and receive the correct part, your employee helped to make our winter more enjoyable. Thank you so much.

Okay so instillation was quite simple once I got the wires ran. So I had to remove the rear bumper for instillation of the wires. In the video it made it seem that it would be a quick instillation. 4-5 hours I spent intotal to install. It was about 3 hours with removal of the rear cover. It was so much easier taking off the bumper then trying to feed it like they showed.

by:

Clip interferes with safety chain hooks. Different size clips should be provided.

by:

Just what I needed to use my 2 inch bike rack on my 1&1/4 inch hitch.Very impressed with the heavy duty makeup of the product. I,m sure it will last longer than I will.

by:

Everything I needed all the way down to the clips and cost effective. 52 yr. old grandma, and I was able to install it myself. Video on installation was helpful and gave me confidence to attempt the job myself.Instructions were very user friendly. etrailer.com all the way.
Thanks guys!

I received the order within two days. My son installed the Hitch this past weekend with no problems.
Your service was excellent and your sales person was wonderful. He guided me through what I was looking for and answered all my questions with patience.

by:

The price was reasonable, the product was, as advertised and the delivery time was incredible. I ordered it on Monday and had it delivered on Wednesday. The cargo carrier had eleven bolts! It took me no time at all to assemble it. Great service, product and price. I am totally satisfied!

by:

The retaining pin fits a Class I hitch, as promised, although the clip looks delicate.
The clip will be easy to take on and off, but I wish that there were a more secure type so I didn't have to worry about it on the road.

by:

It is a great product , only one thing i would change is to make the pin sold with a hole so the clip would go threw the pin in case the chains snag the clip.

by:

It's a pin! nothing too crazy has been doing the job for a light duty trailer no problem. I did manage to bend the end of the pin on my first one somehow but I think it was due to a drop/getting stepped on etc. Still functions well

by:

Good price. Bought an extra one since I didn't know it was already included in the trailer hitch purchase. Not sure if I just missed it in the description or it wasn't mentioned. Overall very happy with purchase and delivery speed.

by:

It's a hitch pin...not alot to say about it. It works. eTrailer is a great source for all of your trailering needs. I've ordered before and will again!

by:

The whole reason you shop at etrailer in the first place - great selection, fair price and prompt shipping. It really couldn't be any easier.

by:

I used this pin to install a 1,5 inch to 2 inch receiver adaptor. Appears to be good quality, didn't rattle and fit snugly.

by:

Looks good so far. It’s a Christmas gift so won’t put it together til then but looks nice. It was recommended as one that will fit our odd size hitch receiver so hope it works.

by:

Does just what I expected. Experience with etrailer was great. Very nice personal touches.

by:

Product fits fine, looks to be of good quality and shipped quickly. My go-to shop for hitch needs

  • Availability of Trailer Hitch for 1996 Ford Taurus With Dual Exhaust
According to Curt Manufacturing, their # C12232 Class II hitch fits all models of the 1996 Ford Taurus, including the SHO and wagon. As long as your exhaust system is in the stock position, the hitch will fit great. If you'll be using the hitch for light duty towing, you'll also need a # C45522 ball mount and a # PC2 hitch pin and for a trailer ball use # A-80 for a 1-7/8 inch or # A-82 for a 2 inch ball. For trailer wiring you will use # C55343 if you have the wagon and # HM40565 if...

  • Hitch Adapter for Class I Hitch on 1998 VW Jetta GT for Use with 2-Inch Thule Bike Rack
Draw-Tite Class I hitch # 24594 does have an internal tab to prevent use of a Class II accessory but we do offer a 1-1/4-inch to 2-inch adapter that will fit, Brophy adapter # HTAD. The trouble with using an adapter like this with your 1-1/4-inch hitch and 2-inch bike rack is that the addition of the adapter causes you to lose half of your hitch capacity. This occurs due to the change in geometry at the hitch tube. This extra leverage on the hitch means your 200-lb-rated hitch suddenly...

I have included a video showing a typical installation on a 2012 Kia Soul that shows this measurement. If you plan on doing some towing you will need ball mount # 3593, hitch pin and clip # PC2, a 1-7/8 inch ball # 19256 or a 2 inch ball # 19258. For trailer wiring you can use # 118431 or, if you have...

  • Does Spare Tire have to be Relocated on 1997 Ford Econoline Conversion Van to Install Trailer Hitch
I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite and he stated that on trailer hitch # 75703 the spare tire will not have to be relocated to install the hitch. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a video from when we installed the hitch on a 1994 Ford van for you. You will have to lower the spare tire to install the hitch but once the hitch is in place you replace the spare tire under the van.

  • Curt Spare Tire Carrier Rattles and Jumps with 1-1/4 Inch to 2 Inch Adapter
I assume you are referring the Curt Spare Tire Carrier, part # C31006 and one of the Class I hitches you purchased from us. Both of those hitches have a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. However, if you are using the HTAD adapter, the tongue weight capacity is reduced by 50 percent to 100 pounds. Now, the carrier weighs 16 pounds and you said your tire and rim weigh a combined 71 pounds. That gives you a total tongue weight load of 87 pounds, still under your 100 pound limit. What you...

When we installed the Draw-Tite # 24755 Class I hitch on a 2007 Acura TL, we found that the inside top edge of the receiver tube sat 10-1/2 inches above the pavement. To determine which ball mount would place your trailer as close to level as possible, you'll need to put the boat trailer up on it's jack so it's level, then measure from the bottom edge of the coupler to the ground. The height difference between 10-1/2 inches and the level trailer coupler height equals the amount of rise/drop...

First, you will need a ball mount. Ball mounts are inserted and pinned into the hitch and provide the platform for the hitch ball. You will need to consult the owners manual to determine if the vehicle can tow at all. If it can and its capacities are lower then you will go by the lower capacity. A trailer is the safer way to go. The hitches available for your 2004 Nissan Murano both have a cross tube that runs side to side behind the receiver on the hitch.
