by:

These were perfect to mount on my motorcycle tailer. The raised front wheel allowed me to fit it over a cross brace on the motorcycle wheel chock.

by:

The Malone Roof bike rack I bought at Etrailer is perfect. It is simple to mount on the roof and simple to mount a bike on it. At one point I use it to drive my bike all the way from Ottawa Canada to Richmond Virginia, some 1,100 KM. The bike is so solid attached with Malone, there is no single movement of it.
I strongly recommend to other to buy it.

by:

Less sturdy than advertised during actual driving. The thumb-nuts and bolts holding the tray and attachments aren't exact enough IMHO and the attachments move around, slide off, and the hardware strips or gets lost. I think it could be done better :(

by:

I bought this rack to mount in a custom location. I thought about buying all the components individually and then spotted this rack that had everything I needed at a great price. I just needed to fabricate a couple of custom mounting brackets for the tray and a support brace for the wheel arm. It works great!

by:

Great rack if you have a low budget. Not the most user friendly but it gets the job done.

by:

We've had them about a year now. The two of them set up on my rigid tonneau cover which came with roof rack style rails. Bought the tonneau cover with the intent to put our bikes up on the back of the truck when we tow our RV. The initial setup took a little time but otherwise they've been great. Easy to take it off last fall and putting the rack back on the truck this spring was a breeze. The bikes are safe and stable. I would definitely recommend this product.

Excellent, very happy. Lots of miles and trips!

by:

Not a very stable product. I was traveling with the rack this summer and the bike shifted. I pulled off the road to adjust and the locking system jammed with the key in the lock. The key broke in the lock as I was trying to unjam it. Emailed the manufacture for a warranty replacement, received the run around about COVID Supply Chain issues and have not received a replacement.
Spend the extra money and buy a higher quality product.

I will have the manufacturer reach out to you regarding your warranty issue.

by:

Good rack, built well, did what it was intended to. Bought 2 used 1, gave it away, sold vehicle and sold the unopened, unused one as my choice of new vehicle did not coincide with the Malone system. Bought a Thule hitch mount, couldn't be happier.

Item was sold. The new owner loves it.

by:

The rack is solid and works great. The reason not a 5 star is because one of the caps for the tray is missing. It doesn't affect how the rack perform, but I'd expect quality control would catch it. It's not etrailer's fault, but Malone (the manufacturer)

by:

This is my 2nd review for the same rack (as I was not able to update the previous review). I rated the rack 4 stars because there were missing tray caps, which didn't affect how the rack works or its performance. The etrailer team (Amy) reached out and got Malone to send me the missing caps. Now that's customer service. I ended up buying another one. Keep up the good customer service guys!

by:

Is nice, it is easy to place the bike, the only thing that I do not like, is that it shaking a little in the expressway

by:

I took two of these on my RAV4 on a 500 mile trip to Northern Michigan. Each one had a bicycle on the roof. They were pointed opposite directions as recommended. The wind noise was noticeable and the gas mileage was noticeably lower, but that is to be expected and something to get used to. This product does a good job holding the bikes securely over bumps and turns. Don't worry that there is some give and flex. That is normal. We found it difficult to reach high enough to secure the bikes so I bought a folding two-step ladder at Lowes to help with this. Two negatives were that the locks could be turned open too far, and they would lock open. This required disassembly of the lock to re position the internal mechanism. Also, one of the wing nuts was stripped from the start and I had to rig up my own threaded bolt as a replacement. Overall, for the price, this is a great product. It is not as easy to use as more expensive products, but if you want to save money, you need to expect fewer quick assembly features.

by:

I ordered this product from trailer a year ago and have been completely satisfied. It has held up well and is easy to use. I also like the fact that I can lock my bike down on the rack when it is on top of my car. Good price as well.

ETrailer was also helpful in talking to me about making sure it would fit when I called them. In short, a great experience all around.

by:

Easy to install and easy to load a bike on will sand more pictures with a bike as well soon

by:

Works well for my plus size tire MTN Bike. Gave it 3 stars because one of the nuts came with the threads stripped. Made me question the quality of the nuts and bolts that hold the rack to my cross rails. Other than that it holds my bike well and the price was right for my budget. Good rack for a good price. We'll see how long it holds up.

by:

We are not happy with the rack. You need to lock the arm I place and the key is not a strong key as well as the lock doesn't turn easily. We broke one key already and the Malone company replaced the key and lock which was nice however the same issue with the new lock and key remains. We are afraid to use it knowing the key will break as its tough to turn. I would not recommend this rack. I recently have been looking at other racks to replace this one. You probably don't want me to put these comments on the site. Hopefully others like the rack.

by:

The bike rack has worked great. We attached it to a Malone trailer with Malone kayak carriers and we can tow the bikes and kayaks behind our RV. Good Minnesota fun.

by:

Bought this as an less expensive alternative to a thule comparable rack. It works, but it is definitely lower quality. I think in hindsight, I'd have just spent the extra for the Thule rack.

by:

etrailer offered an exceptional price and quick easy ordering. Product was shipped within a reasonable time. Looking forward to taking my mountain bike and epic surf ski on weekend campouts on the easy to use and low cost Malone rack.

by:

We love this bike rack, so much so that we ordered 2! Our VW Jetta is too close to the ground for a rack on the back, but these roof racks are highly adjustable and keep our bikes locked and secure. Great product!

by:

Easy instal for almost any cars crossbar

by:

Works well, and is adjustable for multiple bike type and sizes. The only complaint is the installation instructions were less than informative.

by:

Product is what i expected. Poor craftmanship in regards to the end caps that button up the empty tubes. fitment was poor and they fell off within the first five miles. I guess i could replace them , but they were poorly executed as far as engineering.

by:

I bought two of these for my Passat wagon. Great product. Very well made. Almost no wind noise. Very stable. The only issue to look out for is that you need to be fairly strong to lift the bikes up onto your roof.

by:

Love it easy to load my bike
