TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

This SuperTruss hitch extender is specially designed to work with your SuperHitch trailer hitch (sold separately). Like most products from TorkLift, the primary purpose of this extender is to help create a towing setup that fits perfectly with your truck bed camper system. Not only will you be able to extend your trailer hitch receiver out far enough to clear the overhang of your camper, but you will also maintain a high enough weight capacity so that you can tow your trailer.

Heavy-Duty Towing with a Hitch Extension

Most hitch extensions dramatically reduce the towing capacity of your hitch setup, making it difficult to tow a loaded trailer over a certain weight. The SuperTruss, though, creates such a sturdy connection with your SuperHitch trailer hitch that you can still maintain a high weight capacity. To get the highest capacity possible, use a standard weight distribution system with the TorkLift towing setup.

The SuperTruss uses both of the receivers on your TorkLift SuperHitch to ensure a sturdy, secure connection. The solid shank of the extension's top tube slides into your top receiver, and the extension's lower compression tube installs in your bottom receiver. Each tube is held in place with the hitch pins and clips that were included with your SuperHitch. The connection between the extension and your hitch is reinforced with 2 sturdy steel collars that bolt around the tubes of the SuperTruss.

To give you absolute peace of mind, lateral support chains connect to the hitch and the extension on either side of your setup. Just attach one end of each chain to the extension and secure the opposite end to your SuperHitch. Then tighten the chains with the integrated turnbuckles. These chains not only provide extra security to keep the extension in place in your hitch, but they also transfer some of the weight back from the extension to your frame-mounted hitch.

How to Determine the SuperTruss Length You Need

If the camper is mounted on the truck:

Measure from the face of the truck's rear bumper to the outside edge of the camper's bumper. This is the length of the extension that you need.

If the camper is not mounted on the truck:

1. Measure from the inside of the front of your truck bed to the outside face of the truck's rear bumper.

2. Measure the camper's overall floor length from the rubber bumpers at the front to the outside edge of the rear bumper.

3. Find the difference between these 2 figures by subtracting. The difference is the length of the extension that you need.

Structurally strong! Chain and turnbuckles created an extension for my RV extension bumper with storage box. Thought with chains it might need constant re-tightening but has remained tight, after initial trip of 5500mi. Of towing car dolly!

by:

Easy install, seems very stout!

by:

I’ve had the superhitch with 24” extension mounted on my 2013 Ram 2500 for 1 year now and use it frequently to pull my 16 x 7 enclosed trailer with my motorcycle and other gear inside. The hitch and extension give me the towing capacity I need for pulling trailers behind my Lance Truck Camper. I highly recommend the SuperHitch!

by:

Excellent product the only way to safely tow with a large camper

by:

Looks great just not attached because I still can’t get my hitch and tie downs delivered

by:

Anna did excellent. She was "all" that I believe that a customer servive representative should be, "great", telephone ediquette, product knowledge, listener, attention to detail(product availability, which product was best for me,cost comparisons of products, options for mailing, and a process to followup on status of mailing product from the manufacturer and my receipt of the product.Anna completed what I consider to be an "Excellent Customer Service" experience.

etrailer was great, good price, fast delivery, easy to follow instuctions! I am very happy with this product. I got so i can use with a bike rack on my Chevy Spark. I had to buy an adapter to go to 2 inch reciever. Bike is 2 inch, works well. It does wobble a bit, added some hitch locks and straps, that fix most of the wobbling.

by:

I use this to haul my travel trailer with my tailgate open and my RZR in the bed of the truck. It goes together easily and is extremely solid when mounted. Much stronger than just an extension tube.

Armas

I have towed about 7,000 miles with it now and am much more confident in the strength than the simple extension I had. It works well. Etrailer has been great.

by:

Easy to order, shipping was fast. The product is heavy duty, and the fit and finish was better than expected. The hitch extension handles my car hauler loaded with a Jeep with no problem.

by:

Received quickly but the box was showing signs that a struggle had taken place and the box lost. Upon opening the boxes I found that several pieces from the installation kit were missing, I called and an entire new installation kit was quickly shipped to me. Installation was easy and I have been very happy with the customer service.

by:

Great product and works as required. Even better customer service. I had one collar that bent when torqued to required specs and they sent me another to replace it at no charge. Awesome

It has worked flawlessly, with no problems. Great quality product.

by:

Product fit perfect. Easy to install. Very heavy duty. I’m adding an extension for a 25’ camper trailer so I can fit an ATV rack in my bed that has an 18” overhang.

by:

Quality product that is available in the size that I need. Etrailer worked with me at their expense to get me the correct one. The customer service will keep me coming back to this company and using their products.

by:

I have purchased several products from etrailer and I have not been disappointed . Great staff quick delivery and they have the delivery on or before the promised date . I will definetly purchase from them again. They got everything to me and saved my vacation to sturgis . Thsnks

by:

Have Always had a great experience buying from etrailer, will continue to buy as needed.

by:

Shipped to Alaska with reasonable rates. Product was shipped out within 24 hours of order and arrived 2-3 days later. Boxes were well prepared for a long journey and arrived in excellent condition. Product prices were also as good or better than other sites I could find. I have yet to install what ordered, and if anything changes I will update this review. So far I will be ordering from this company again. Many thanks for the great service.

  • 24" Trailer Hitch Extension For a 2011 Ford F-350 To Be Able To Tow 10,000LBS Trailer Weight
To be able to tow a 10,000lb trailer with a 24" extension behind your 2011 Ford F-350 you will need to replace your factory receiver with a TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver # TLF1002. This will allow you to use the 24" TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1524 with a weight distribution hitch for a maximum trailer rating of 14,000lbs and maximum tongue weight of 1,400lbs. If you do not use a weight distribution hitch the extension is only rated for a trailer weight...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch With Extension For 2007 Chevrolet Silverado With Camper Installed
I recommend the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # TLC1205 for your Silverado if you have an 8-ft bed on your truck. If you have a 6-1/2 ft bed the hitch I recommend is part # TLC1204. As far as the extension you will need to measure the distance from the hitch pin hole to the end of the camper to see what length extension you will need. We offer different length extensions like part # TLE1524 for a 24 inch extension. For a 32 inch extension I recommend part...

  • Recommended TorkLift SuperHitch for a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500
I do have an option for you but the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLD1100 will not fit your 2010 Dodge Ram 3500. This hitch is only designed to fit a Dodge Ram 3500 from 1994-2002. Instead, I recommend using the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLD1101 if you do not have a factory hitch or part # TLD1102 if you do have a factory hitch. If you also need the TorkLift SuperTruss and then you can use one of the following depending on the...

Good news! The two TorkLift Super Hitch confirmed fit options for your 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie with factory hitch are the 2 inch # TLD1109 or 2-1/2 inch # TLD1109-30. Since you plan on using the # TLE1521 or # TLE1524 you will most likely want the TorkLift 2 inch version # TLD1107. I have linked all the above mentioned products to this page for your convenience.

  • Compatibility of Bike Rack and 24 Inch Trailer Hitch Extension and Swagman Bike Rack
We don't do any custom fabrication and that length would be too much torque for your trailer hitch with your bike rack bouncing and swaying. I can't recommend you install a bike rack on the end of an extension that length even on a custom build unless you were to use the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers - 24" Long # TLE1524 which will use dual hitch receivers and chains for stabilization. With that system you could use the Swagman E-Spec 2 Bike...
