TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

This SuperTruss hitch extender is specially designed to work with your SuperHitch trailer hitch (sold separately). Like most products from TorkLift, the primary purpose of this extender is to help create a towing setup that fits perfectly with your truck bed camper system. Not only will you be able to extend your trailer hitch receiver out far enough to clear the overhang of your camper, but you will also maintain a high enough weight capacity so that you can tow your trailer.

Heavy-Duty Towing with a Hitch Extension

Most hitch extensions dramatically reduce the towing capacity of your hitch setup, making it difficult to tow a loaded trailer over a certain weight. The SuperTruss, though, creates such a sturdy connection with your SuperHitch trailer hitch that you can still maintain a high weight capacity. To get the highest capacity possible, use a standard weight distribution system with the TorkLift towing setup.

The SuperTruss uses both of the receivers on your TorkLift SuperHitch to ensure a sturdy, secure connection. The solid shank of the extension's top tube slides into your top receiver, and the extension's lower compression tube installs in your bottom receiver. Each tube is held in place with the hitch pins and clips that were included with your SuperHitch. The connection between the extension and your hitch is reinforced with 2 sturdy steel collars that bolt around the tubes of the SuperTruss.

To give you absolute peace of mind, lateral support chains connect to the hitch and the extension on either side of your setup. Just attach one end of each chain to the extension and secure the opposite end to your SuperHitch. Then tighten the chains with the integrated turnbuckles. These chains not only provide extra security to keep the extension in place in your hitch, but they also transfer some of the weight back from the extension to your frame-mounted hitch.

How to Determine the SuperTruss Length You Need

If the camper is mounted on the truck:

Measure from the face of the truck's rear bumper to the outside edge of the camper's bumper. This is the length of the extension that you need.

If the camper is not mounted on the truck:

1. Measure from the inside of the front of your truck bed to the outside face of the truck's rear bumper.

2. Measure the camper's overall floor length from the rubber bumpers at the front to the outside edge of the rear bumper.

3. Find the difference between these 2 figures by subtracting. The difference is the length of the extension that you need.

Fantastic

by:

Torklift SuperTruss does not disappoint. Straight forward install, though the manual photos are extremely dark. Use the Torklift YouTube install video if needed. The 48” extension gives me the needed length beyond the TC I was looking for while still allowing 1,200 tongue and 12k overall towing capacity.

by:

Fast and exactly as promised.
Will order

Works great. Completed my dream vehicle. Truck F550 with huge camper, 30,000 Torklift super hitch with 4 ft extension for rear camper overhang, towing a large boat.= 12000 trailer tow capacity. 5 Stars for performing as advertized! Used in conjunction with 1600 equalizer hitch .

by:

Delivered on time, no issues

by:

So far it's great!! It took me and my buddy about 90 minutes to take off the old hitch on my 2006 Chevy 3500 dually!!! We timed ourselves! It wasn't complicated. We used a floor jack to lift the new hitch into place. All bolt holes matched perfectly. You definitely should use two people to install this thing because if it gets away from you may need to replace some fingers. It's just a heavy piece of equipment. Installing it myself saved me about $600 over having someone else install!!

by:

Quality! Torklift has always been a quality product for us.

by:

Absolutely amazing!!! Love all the products I've purchased from etrailer.
As always.... Customer service is more than 5 star if I could give it.

by:

Super Truss arrived well packaged. Assembly instructions were easy to follow.

Installed this along with the Super Hitch 1 year ago and it works as advertised! The chains could stand to be one link shorter. I just put the clevis screw through the link instead of the clevis and attach to the Super Hitch that way.

by:

Replaced a Reese 4508 with this unit. I needed something with a 6k tow capacity. Very well made, I'll be towing a Mazda CX-9 and it's more than secure with this extension.

by:

This Super Truss Hitch is great! super strong! I have a large cab-over camper and pull a 14 ft motorcycle trailer with no issues. the chains and turnbuckles make a big difference in the stability of the hitch.

Outstanding

by:

If towing behind a truck camper this is the only way to go! My wife and Ii were t boned a few years back by a box truck running a red light at highway speed. The 3500 Ram, the truck camper and the trailer were totaled. One jetski suffered $900.00 damage. The Super Truss suffered no damage whatsoever. It took awhile for us to recover but here I am buying another extension, for me it's the only one!

by:

I bought the torklift super hitch a year ago and it works fantastic. I have a lot of torklift products and are the best. I just got back from Oregon pulling my boat works great with no problems would recommend it if pulling a trailer or boat

by:

Works great. Very heavy duty.

by:

A little bit heavy but very strong

by:

I bought this after a hair raising trip to Wyoming and back with a Reese Tow Beast hitch extension on the back of my 2011 Ram dually with an Arctic Fox 1140 camper on the back. i had issues all the way up and back with my hitch and met a Gentleman with theTorklift hitch and Super Truss extension and knew that was what I needed.

I have installed but not pulled with it yet, but it is very solid.

by:

This is a well built product. I have always felt confident when towing my vehicle behind the camper. I would recommend that the turn buckles for the chains be upgraded.

by:

eTrailer did a great job getting my order to me in a reasonable time and were particularly good at helping me find solutions to items that I had chosen from a vendor that has not been good at supplying in the recent past. Some of my items were factory shipped as I expected.

by:

Great product. I've been using it to pull my 21ft bass boat all over the country. Absolutely zero problems. I'd also like to mention that it was a pleasure working with etrailer.com, fast delivery of great products!

by:

This extension worked awesome for us. Pulled a loaded two horse trailer.

by:

Good stability from the Super Hitch when pulling my trailer.

by:

Great item, The hole drilled in the lower tube and not straight. Ran a drill through and all good.

by:

I ORDERED THE SUPER TRUSS FOR MY 1993 C3500 CHEV TRUCK.IT IS BETTER BUILT THAN THE LAST ONE I HAD {WHICH BROKE}. IT WAS DELIVERED IN 3 DAYS WITH NO DAMAGE.I'M SURE THIS WILL SOLVE MY PROBLEM.VERY NICE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH.CHUCK IN CALIFORNIA

by:

i have gotten to use this let. i am retiring soon and plan on using it then.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch With Extension For 2007 Chevrolet Silverado With Camper Installed
I recommend the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # TLC1205 for your Silverado if you have an 8-ft bed on your truck. If you have a 6-1/2 ft bed the hitch I recommend is part # TLC1204. As far as the extension you will need to measure the distance from the hitch pin hole to the end of the camper to see what length extension you will need. We offer different length extensions like part # TLE1524 for a 24 inch extension. For a 32 inch extension I recommend part...

To use the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension 48" Long item # TLE1548 with your 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 you are going to want the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver item # TL74FR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Silverado with included hardware. The SuperTruss extension # TLE1548 is designed to work with TorkLift SuperHitch trailer hitches only. You can add one to your 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 using # TLD1102. Then you would be able to use the extension. With this set up the extension will have a tongue weight capacity of 600 pounds. How much extension do you need? If you do not need 48 inches then there could be some other options that would not require the addition of a SuperHitch.

I do have an option for you but the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLD1100 will not fit your 2010 Dodge Ram 3500. This hitch is only designed to fit a Dodge Ram 3500 from 1994-2002. Instead, I recommend using the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLD1101 if you do not have a factory hitch or part # TLD1102 if you do have a factory hitch. I can definitely list out the parts needed to get your 2017 Ram 3500 Dually all set and ready for your Lance Camper. First will be the hitch. For this I highly suggest going with the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum # TLD1108-30. It will have a max capacity of 20,000 pounds and will sit just below your factory hitch. This will give you 2 receiver openings, allowing for you to use accessories that have a much higher capacity than just one receiver. This hitch will also determine the next components. That...
