What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we'll be checking out the Yates bow roller. So this is going to be a replacement part that goes right here on the front of your trailer. Let's say yours is worn down or it's not spinning like it's supposed to anymore because it's been out in the weather so long. It's an easy part that you can replace and get back up, running as new. Let's check it out.
Now what this is gonna do, is it's gonna go right here on your trailer and you can roll it, so that means when you're pulling your boat on there, and let's say the bow hits it, it's gonna roll up like that and it'll be just fine, it'll roll all the way. Acts as a stopper too, so as it hits this, it's better than it hitting the trailer and scratching up your boat. Also, when it's just sitting on there and you've got to tie it down, if your boat is to move and travel up and down, it's gonna hit this instead of the metal parts of your trailer, so that's, again, just gonna save your boat from getting all scratched up and damaged. It's made out of a thermal plasticized rubber. So it's gonna be a little more soft than regular polyurethane and has a little more of a structure than rubber does, so it's a nice in the middle of both of those.
I also wanna point out that the material it's made of isn't gonna leave marks on your boat. So some of the other ones, if it was just made rubber, and you we're to come up here, pull your boat up and hit it kind of hard, it might leave black marks here on the bottom of your boat. This isn't gonna happen with this one, there's not going to be any scraps or issues. Now I'll give you some measurements. It's going to be three inches and three quarters long, that's the width here.
And then it's also gonna have a diameter here where the hole where you gonna put the bolt in is going to be a half inch. So that way you can just get the right hardware to make sure it's gonna go through your trailer and your roller. Now you also can get these in a couple different colors, they also will come in blue and black. So if you don't want the yellow one that we we're installing today, there's two other options at might match your boat trailer a little bit better. It's really easy to install.
You just take this bolt out. Check out how we did it, Ready to install our new roller here, we're just going to set it into place. We're gonna use the existing hardware from the old one that we took out. Just slide it through the holes in the middle, mash it up on the other side. Now, something that would suggest is if you aren't getting ones with the bells on the side, and you see this the old one we took off. It did have those, so this bolt's a little longer than it should be so it's gonna stick out. You can get different sized hardware to run through that where there's not as much sticking on both sides, but this will still work like this. So we have the washer on this end, push there, and then we're gonna put a washer and nut on the other side. Just gonna get started by hand and I'll come back with tools and tighten it down. Got a ratchet and a wrench on here, just need to go ahead and tighten it down. So I went in, tighten it down, made sure the bolt head and nut here are tight, but this can still freely spend 'cause we're gonna need that when you go to put the bolt on. Overall, super easy to replace and get this part back up and running. and I liked this one because it's not gonna scuff up the boat either. So you don't have to worry about making any marks and now this rolls like it was supposed to again, it's gonna all work with that trailer and make it easier to get that boat up there. It says 4" long. It is not. 3-3/4" and that leaves too big a gap on both sides. the rubber one I had was the right size, this Yates roller is not.

Far superior product compared to what was on there (old 19 year-old rubber rollers). To do my ShoreLand'r trailer, I hooked up the trailer to my pickup, chocked the wheels, jacked up the front end of the boat while keeping the winch line hooked up, and unbolt the old roller. Then simply install the new roller, check your bolts, and your ready to hit the water. Thanks etrailer.com!

This is the easiest upgrade you'll ever make to you boat trailer! It takes all of 5 minutes to install. I bought this to replace the old (my boat is a 97 and I believe this was the original rubber roller) that was making black marks on the boat. No more marks with this roller and it was a perfect fit! Shipping was fast. Best price around. There is no reason to ever use a rubber roller again. I just wish I did it sooner.

We needed to purchase 5 rollers for our boat trailer but were unsure of a couple details. I called etrailer's help line, was connected with Greg S. We knew we wanted to try Yates TPR rollers. Greg was very helpful and patient with me on the phone.
Completed the order late in the day (about 3:00 pm). I asked if they would ship the following day and he assured me they would. Checked email just before supper and had an email from etrailer that our order had shipped same day. Had the rollers in two days.

I use this as a hose roller and it works great.
Wish it was deeper grooved but since this is not what it's made for it still works fine.

This is an outstanding roller. Just had to get that out right away. My trailer had the factory black rubber rollers that had totally worn out and were about to fall off. I wanted something, if possible, that was more dense and much tougher than the rubber rollers. I have an aluminum V bottom boat and the aluminum V is very tough on the rollers. I came across this on eTrailer and the price was just a fraction of what the local marine supply wanted for trailer parts. Local markup is definitely quite shocking when you see eTrailer's prices! Bottom line, this is an outstanding roller. It's very tough, the v shape helps center my boat so it rides more level, and it just looks good too. I couldn't be more happy and will not go anywhere else for the parts I need.

Much better than the black rubber roller I originally had which would leave marks on the nose of my boat. I intend to replace all the rollers on my trailer with the ones made of this non-marking material - I'm so tired of scrubbing black tread marks off the hull.

IN the past the black rubber rollers did not last a year before getting a flat spot or two, making it hard for them to rotate. After one full year this roller shows no sign of wear, much less any flat spots.

Nothing too technical about the part itself. A simple swap out of the old parts. Matched the dimensions of the OEM parts so the installation went smoothly. I’ll start be giving a huge AWESOME JOB TO THE STAFF, for the great service. I ordered the Yates keel and bow rollers to replace all the old black rubber on a stainless steel Boston Whaler trailer that I built for a friend about 18 years ago. The local suppliers didn’t have everything I needed in one place. So I checked online and found etrailer.com and ordered keel rollers, end caps, bow roller with bell ends. Confirmed the order about 3-4 in the morning Hawaii time and learned the order was shipped less that five hours latter. And the box was sitting outside my door two days later. Damn that’s fast, especially to Hawaii. Being a first time buyer , that’s one hell of a first impression. With pricing and shipping can’t be beat. Very much appreciated.

YR45Y Seems to be a good quality product material wise. The bolt shaft hole was off centered 5/16" (I measured) which may cause flatspotting from the boat bow over time if it doesn't roll true when impacted. I also ordered the beveled end cap rollers as well that seem just fine. Fully assembled on the trailer you can see the offset in alignment in the center roller vs. The endcaps.

A solid bumper bumper?, not honeycombed like the competition. Some idiot had put a 3" bumper on a 4" fork on my trailer before I bought it. It beat up the front of the boat over time. Since I just repainted the boat I felt I needed to get the bumper back to what it was designed for. This solved the problem. Hardest part was spreading the fork back to the 4" width.

Great product and hard to find something that was an exact fit to replace the original trailer component. It fits a 4 inch bracket, but the piece actually measures about 3-3/4 inch wide. Does not leave marks on my hull either.

- Bow Roller Recommendation for a Trailer with a 3-5/8 Inch Wide BracketYou would want to go with the 3 inch Yates Bow Roller for Boat Trailers # YR300Y. This would fit well on your bracket that is 3-5/8 inches with only a little over a 1/4 of an inch of gap on either side of the roller. A 4 inch roller would be too wide and wouldn't fit.

This bow roller is 3.75 inches long to fit with a 4 inch wide bracket. I am having our product page updated so that it is clearer on the size. I checked and I do not have a wider 4 inch roller to offer.
