How To Stop Scuffs On Hull Of Boat When Using CE Smith Multi Sport Boat and Kayak Trailer

Question:

I have the CE Smith Multi Sport Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks - 8inch Wheels - 12foot Boat - 800 lbs. I love the trailer, but have found the roller or the bow stop are marring the finish on the small antique mahogany hulled dinghy. The bow is very rounded . Do you have any suggestions? The boat is very light 100 lbs but the hull is very curvaceous. - Different rollers? - Additional support for the hull? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Expert Reply:

If you replace the bow roller with one that is non-marring then that should fix any issues with scuffs on the hull of the boat. For this, I recommend the Yates Bow Roller for Boat Trailers part # YR450Y for 4" wide or part # YR300Y for 3" wide.
