Today we're taking a look at an open snap bushing. The open snap bushing converts raw, edge metal holes to smooth, insulated holes. It does the have the split design right here which provides side entry for segments larger than the bushing in diameter. It's an easy installation, just install in holes with existing cable runs or tubing. Or if you want to cut a new hole, you just need to make sure it's a half inch diameter because this is designed to fit into a half in diameter mount hole. Today we're going to take a look at the five pack of 16 to 14 gauge butt connectors. These vinyl insulated blue butt connectors have a wire range of 16 to 14 gauge. The wire gauge, you can see it fits, is actually stamped on here. They do use chamfered barrel ends in the inside to allow fast and easy wire insertion from both ends. The very middle has a built in wire stop for accurate positioning of the wires and these must be crimped at the ends for a good insulated connection, and this part comes as a quantity of five. But, that should do it for the review on the five pack of the 16 to 14 gauge butt connectors.. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Deka Heat Shrink Ring Terminal. You're simply going to tie all the grounds together and we'll attach the Deka Heat Shrink Ring Terminal and we'll simply heat shrink it. You're just going to heat up the outside and it'll melt around there and it's going to seal out any kind of dirt and grime or corrosion that could get inside there. You'll see it's going to shrink up and it just clamps around the wires. You want to make sure you have a nice clean spot to put your ground. Just simply scrape off any old paint, debris that's on there. You want to have a nice clean area with bare metal for your ground to attach. more

Hopkins Trailing Wiring Kit Installation- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to use the Hopkins Trailer Wiring Solution Kit with Circuit Tester. Part number HM51000. It comes with this nice reclosable case that you can keep in your glove box, so if you ever go out to the lake and your lights didn't work you'd have a way to test them and repair them. It's going to come with this nice LED test light. It will work for low voltage and for regular 12 volt power. It has some electrical tape, it will have a couple of ring loop terminals of various sizes, and a couple of self tapping screws if we had to replace a ground wire. It also has some quick connects. more

Spectro Snap Bushing Grommet Review- Video
Today we're going to review and install the Spectro Snap Bushing, part number SWC8055. Note, the snap bushing is available in two sizes: the 7/16 inside diameter and a 9/16 inside diameter, part number SWC8057. Here's what our Spectro snap bushing looks like. This is a nylon bushing that will help protect our wiring as it passes through our pre-drilled hole. Typically that hole is drilled into sheet metal like a firewall. The raw edges of the metal can chafe or dig into the wiring or even an air line, and the snap bushing will protect it. Once the snap bushing is slid through your pre-drilled hole, the locks here will help hold it in place and the face of the grommet will be on the other side of the firewall, so we'll have part of the grommet on each side holding it in position. When drilling it out, you're going to open it up to approximately a 9/16 hole. more

This will allow us to feed it over top of existing wires or we can simply feed the wires directly into the wire loom. The wire loom is used for covering up or blending in wires, protection connection points, or if we have loose wires it can be used to bundle them. Most commonly used for running in areas where it's high temperature or around sharp edges to help protect the wiring. Deka 12 Gauge Black Primary Wire Review- Video
Today we're going to review and install the Deka 12-gauge black primary wire, part number 12-1-1. It meets the SAE J 1128 specification, has a nice thermal plastic cover, and inside are copper leads. Here we can see the nice copper strands. They're good and durable, don't break easily. After I strap back, they can be twisted together, then routed or connected as needed. Our 12-gauge wire can handle up to 50 volts and has a max temperature of 176 degrees Fahrenheit. more

Deka 12-10 Gauge Wire Ring Terminal Review- Video
Today in this old trailer, we're going to review and install the Deka 10 to 12 Gauge, 3/8" ID Ring Terminal, part number DW05705-1. The ring terminal is designed to fit over battery posts or even junction box terminals for securing your wire. Now, our ring terminal is a pretty basic instruction. We've got a metal ring that goes into the plastic sheathing, and then inside the plastic, about halfway, is the metal where we'll crimp down to secure the wire. We'll look at the side profile here of the ring terminal, and you see it's got a little step about halfway on the plastic. We want to crimp the half that's closest to the end of the ring portion of our ring terminal as that's where the metal is on the inside of the plastic to give us a nice secured connection. Our yellow ring terminal, we'll just slide up and over the wire, and you see just a little bit of the copper sticking out there, and then we'll crimp it down. more

They use a very heavy-duty hinge here, definitely the strongest one that's out there, and our small verment 00:00:23 door here wants to open to allow our cable to come out. This is going to accept both the 30 amp and 50 amp, so it's going to work in a wide variety of applications. They've designed it with a material that's not going to fade, it's not going to discolor due to weather or any chemical action that it may have came in contact with. They're designed to replace up to 4 and a half inch covers. more

3M Wiring 44-5356A Review- Video
Today we're going to review part number 44-5356A. This is the 3M Ring Terminal for size 10-12 gauge wire. This the 5/16" ring diameter size. These ring terminals are used for all types of electrical work where wires need to be fastened. This one is used for use with a 10-12 gauge size wire. It is designed to fit on a stud size of 5/16". It does have the vinyl insulation sleeve you can see, which is yellow. Basically, to show you how this would attach the wire I have section of 12-gauge wire right here. more
