As you can see we have a nice snug fit here. The fully adjustable end caps are going to allow us to really give it a really nice customized look. You can see that the gate's going to follow right along with the contours of the truck, gives it a really like a factory or original equipment look. What the gate's got to offer. We're going to have that nice low drop whether we're trying to back up to a goose neck trailer, a 5th wheel trailer, we're not going to have to worry about getting in and out and closing the gate, opening the gate, allows it to pass over very nicely. Stromberg Carlson Tailgate Installation - 2016 Ford F-250 VG-97-100- Video

Today on our 2016 Ford F250, we are going to do a test fit on our Stromberg Carlson 100 Series Fifth Wheel Tailgate with open design for Ford trucks. Part number is VG-97-100. Of course this is the goal, so we can have that drop down that's going to allow our king pin box to go right up, we don't have to worry about lowering the tailgate or taking the tailgate off every time we want to get around town or move our trailer around. It has got a nice heavy-duty steel construction, got a black powder coat finish on it. It is going to stand up to the elements, weather and things like that to really keep it looking nice for a long time for us. It has been costumed designed so it is going to fit every curve of our truck here and give it a-- well not a factory appearance, but close to a factory fit anyway. The louvered design that we have here really helps to promote good air flow so we don't have any risks of decreasing our miles per gallon. You can see our really nice, clean lines all the way up and around, gives it a really nice appearance there. We are going to have a nice, open area here in our steel, that if we choose to we can go ahead and drill a hole in there and connect our factory safety cables, so our gate won't drop down past where we want it. Stromberg Carlson 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate Installation - 2014 Ford F-150- Video

Today on our 2014 F 150, we're going to do a test fit on the Strongberg Carlson 400 Series fifth wheel louvered tailgate with lock for Ford trucks, part number is VG-04-04000. The fifth wheel tailgate is going to provide a really good way to get our fifth wheel or gooseneck hooked up to our truck without having to open and close the tailgate each time. This is a blow molded, glass filled polymer, so you're going to have a very strong, almost as strong as steel feel to it, while we are not going to have to worry about rust, corrosion and things like that. This is a paint able surface, as well as our adjustable end caps, fully paint able so we can match the truck if we decide to. The nice thing about the end caps here, these are going to be fully adjustable. That is going to give us that custom look, or that specifically designed look as you can see, it matches up really well with the contours of our truck and it gives it more of a factory feel or more of an original equipment feel to it. You can see the louvers, that are in the tailgate. more

Today, on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado classic, we'll be taking a look at the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series Fifth Wheel Tailgate with the open design for GM trucks. Part number VGM-99-100. As you can see, this has a nice, clean design. For anybody that's looking to put a fifth wheel or gooseneck in the back of the vehicle, they'll be able to carry it with no problems and have plenty of room here. In addition to giving you better fuel economy and preventing that wind drag, it's also going to give you the ability to place items in the bed of your truck without worrying about it sliding out the back if you had to remove your tailgate beforehand. You can see it's going to be very easy to operate. It's going to be nice and sturdy here with your nice little rubber bump stops on the other side. To open it up, you'll just pull in on the rings and drop it down. Now, by those bump stops, I mean on the back side here, which will help keep down on any kind of vibration or anything you might have in your tailgate. Lift it back up, pull the pins, and secure it in place. It's also going to have that nice, black, powder coat finish that's going to help to prevent any kind of rust and corrosion. more

Today, on a 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty, we're going to show you the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate, Part#VG-97-100. This is what the tailgate looks like once installed on our Ford. To give you an idea of how big the opening is here in the middle for your 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer, the bottom is going to be about 15" wide and if we go to the top, it's going to be about 34" wide. Now go ahead and check out the fit. As you can see here, the rounded part of the tailgate actually matches the rounded part of the truck bed itself and also the taillight. It kind of matches it all the way down and matches up pretty nice. This tailgate's constructed from steel material with a powder-coat finish. Even though it's all welded and steel, it's actually pretty lightweight to work with. more

This finish actually has three layers to it so it's actually very durable against nicks and scrapes. Today we are going to review and install, the Pilot Truck Bed Tailgate Gap Cover part number TR-101. Here's what our Pilot gap cover's going to look like once it's installed. Our gap cover's material is made from a commercial grade construction ABS plastic. It's stiff and durable, rust proof, but yet still flexible enough that we can close our tailgate. Our gap cover makes it nice an easy to clean out our truck, whether we're hauling rock, mulch, or just cleaning it up. It allows us to swiftly and easily shovel or sweep it out over the tailgate, preventing it from falling down between the pickup bed and the tailgate. Today we're going to be taking a look at part number GL-1. This is the gorilla lift utility trailer tailgate lift assist. It's a two-sided tailgate assist, which is a little bit different compared to other tailgate assists out on the market. It's going to attach to both side rails on a trailer, and it's actually a benefit because it's going to prevent the trailer gates from warping or the hinges from wear from uneven stress. So actually having it installed on both sides is a great benefit because it's going to extend or it can extend the life of the trailer gate. Today, on this 2012 Ford F-350 Super Duty, we're going to show you Husky Liners Premium 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate, part number HL15130. This is what the tailgate looks like when it's installed on our truck. Take a outward look, you can see it has a nice silver finish to it, which works with a lot of different variety of colors of trucks. We'll go ahead and check the shape of it, it actually matches the contour of the truck lines pretty well. Of course, it's a 5th wheel tailgate, so you got a nice opening for your 5th wheel to fit into. Also, it works great with the previously installed Gooseneck Hitch as well. All right, let's go ahead and check out the opening. At the minimum, it's going to be about 15 inches and its maximum is going to be about 29 inches. On this 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to show you a Stromberg Carlson 4000 series fifth wheel and gooseneck tailgate, part number VGN dash 07 dash 4000. Taking our first look at the tailgate, you can see it has a generous opening for your fifth wheel, or in this case, gooseneck hitch in this truck. You don't have to worry about lowering your tailgate to hook up. Continue with the look of it, you can see how this edge of a tailgate matches the body work above the tail light, also matches the curve of the tail light as well, matches the seam right here, and also the bodywork below the tail light. Now, I want to take a little bit closer look at the louvers here, how the air can pass through the tailgate. The gap is probably a little under half an inch. This tailgate is a composite construction, which means you got the plastic outside, which really saves on the weight of the tailgate, but also on the inside, we lower it, we can see the steel components as well that gives it the strength. more

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be doing an installation of the Husky Liners Premium 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with the Locking Handle, part number HL15240. You can see the louvered tailgate once it's installed. Of course, we've got the drop down to allow for our use next to things like that to be connected without any problem. This is also going to give us an advantage in that this is about half the weight of a standard steel tailgate. It's also louvered. While we're dropping weight in the truck just like the new cars coming out, they don't have spare tires to help with fuel economy, losing weight is going to help us with our fuel economy, and this louvered design is going to allow air to pass through rather than be caught in there. It can really help to improve our fuel economy. This is a locking tailgate. more

We'll go ahead and check it out to see how the overall look of the tailgate is. As you can see, it has a big opening here for the fifth wheel or your gooseneck trailer, so you don't have to lower your tailgate when you hook up to your trailer. Pretty simple and effective construction, square tube stock top and on the bottom on this row here. As you work your way down towards the bottom of the tailgate, you'll have round tube stock and some more square and angle iron on the bottom. It looks like it has a nice gloss finish to it, it's actually a powder coat finish. more

Husky Liners Premium 5th Wheel Tailgate Review- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Husky Liners line of aluminum premium fifth wheel louvered tailgates with locking handles. Now our Husky Liner tailgate, of course like all of them, it's going to have the deep cutout to allow us to get our fifth wheel in and out, get it connected easily. Now what really sets this tailgate apart from a lot of its competitors are its heavy duty construction. It's an aluminum material fully welded throughout. With the latches in place on both sides it's even going to be capable of holding up to 200 pounds. It's going to have a nice finish on it, so that, paired with the aluminum, is going to be very corrosion resistant. more

Access TrailSeal Full Truck Bed Protection Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video

Today on 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab, we're going to be installing the Access TrailSeal Full Bed Protection for Chevy and GMC pickup trucks in a new body style, part number 834532001453. To begin our installation, we're going to need to install the foam blocks that go up underneath the bed rail. We'll be installing a small block up here at the front, two small blocks here in the middle and one large foam block here at the rear. We're going to start up here on the front corner of the bed. You'll notice how there's a big hole underneath the bed right here on the side wall. This right here is how the foam block will be put in. It will be the same for all three of the small ones on this side. You'll start out by smashing it down. You'll need to work it into the opening. more

Stromberg Carlson Tailgate Installation - 2011 Ford F-350- Video

Today on our 2011 Ford F350 Super Duty we're going to be doing an installation of the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate with open design. Part number VG-97-100. The first step in our installation is going to be to remove the Ford's factory tailgate. Just open it up, let it come on down and we're going to be able to gain access into the two points we need to disconnect our cables. We'll take a small screwdriver and as we lift up on the tailgate we'll move that metal out of the way to where it will slide on, up and over. Then we'll make our way around to the driver side and do that same thing. You will want to support the weight of the tailgate. If you don't it's going to come down and make contact with your bumper and it's going to rest on there, and that's not something that we want. more

Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 Series Mega Cab, we're going to install part number VGD-02-100. This is a Strongburg Carlson 100 Series fifth wheel tailgate. First thing we need to do is remove the factory tailgate. You're also going to need to remove the cables as well. Typically just lift the tailgate up just a little bit and pull this little tab out, and you can pull it apart. You've got one on each side, and it's a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help take the tailgate off. more

Stromberg Carlson Tailgate Installation - 2013 Ford F-350 VG-97-4000- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford F-350 Crew Cab, we'll be installing the Stromberg Carlson 4000-series 5th-wheel louvered tailgate with lock, part number VG-97-4000. Because this particular vehicle has a backup camera, which is mounted in the tailgate, we'll need to unplug that. To unplug it, you just squeeze the tab, pull it apart, and in this particular case, as you can see here, there's an orange cap that'll go on top of the factory harness once we've unplugged the tailgate. To get the plug apart, we'll go ahead and squeeze the tab and gently pull apart. Now, we're ready to go ahead and remove the tailgate. To do this, we'll use a small flat-head screwdriver, to lift the tab up and release the safety cable or the cable holding the tailgate. Once we have that done, we'll open the tailgate just a little bit and lift up on the passenger side. When we do that, it'll lift the tailgate off of its tab. more

Typically, there's a small tab you pull out to release tension on the cable, and you can go ahead an release it. Okay, this is where I want an extra set of hands to help remove the tailgate. Tilt it up about 45-degree angle, and then pull up on it, and it comes out of the slot. Just push towards me. There you go. more

Today, on this 2007 Chevrolet Silverado new body extended cab, we're going to install part number VGM-07-4000. This is a Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th wheel louvered tailgate. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and remove our tailgate. We'll go ahead and take some tension off the cables and we'll go ahead and remove the cables. Typically, you pick up a corner here and then we can pull it out away from the truck. Okay, now installing your new tailgate pretty much reverses the order of removing the original tailgate. Now, the tailgate does come with some special bushings that will fit on the end where it slides in. However, in this truck, we didn't have to use any of them. more

TrailSeal Tailgate Gasket Installation - 2014 Toyota Tacoma- Video

Today on this 2014 Toyota Tacoma, were going to install part number 834532001583. This is the TrailSeal tailgate gasket. To start off our install well go ahead and open up the tailgate. Then well go ahead and clean up the inside edge of the tailgate, all the way around. Well go ahead and use the alcohol prep kits that come with the package. Next well go ahead and take a piece of our seal and cut off about a one inch length. more

DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Lowering System Installation - 2013 Ford F-150- Video

Today in our 2013 Ford F150, well be installing the DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System for pickup trucks part number DZ43200.Lets begin by showing you how the tailgate can just simply drop when you release it. To begin with, we need to adjust the nutsert tool so that theres approximately three quarters of an inch from the washer to the head of the bolt. If you need to move it, you simply loosen the nut and screw the bolt in or out to get to the proper length and then tighten down the nut. As you can see here, weve already got our three quarter inch length set properly.Next, were going to use an M5 Allen wrench, as well as a 10-millimeter wrench to install the nutsert in the opening in the tailgate pivot point. When installing this, were going to need to turn the nut 360 degrees nine times. To make things a little bit easier, were going to take our paint marker and mark one side of the nut so that we can keep count as were turning the nut in tighter. more
