This EZ Gate Tailgate Assist will help reduce physical strain when you're lifting or lowering your heavy trailer tailgate. Review of Stromberg Carlson Tailgate - Tailgate - VI-4000- Video

Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Stromberg Carlson insert for your louvered tailgate. This works with the 4000 series from Stromberg Carlson, and basically this just kind of fills in that gap for your tailgate as it bows down to allow your fifth wheel to get hooked up, so that little dip in the tailgate leaves a gap. This fills the gap. It is made of a durable metal construction with a nice powder coat. So it's going to look like a factory tailgate, like in addition to that, you do have to make a little bit of modification to your louvered tailgate. more

Hey guys. Today we're going to take a look at the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate. Now this is going to be a direct replacement for your factory tailgate for most of your late eighties to early nineties Ford model trucks. Now this is a vented tailgate so it's going to give you better vision for when you're driving or backing up, and it's also going to improve your gas mileage. While this cutout is also going to be good for loading any 5th wheel or gooseneck trailers so you won't have to lower the tailgate to get those loaded.Now if you got to tailgate that's broken or damaged or you just don't want to mess with it anymore, a lot of times with these older trucks they'll just be very outdated and just very weathered down. Stromberg Carlson Tailgate Review - 2016 Ram 1500- Video

In this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate, part number VGD-10-4000. As you can see, we already have our original tailgate removed, so we'll go ahead and jump right into it and install our new tailgate. This tailgate is pretty lightweight, but if you need another person to help you out, by all means, go get them, because this can be kind of awkward. Go ahead and start off with the driver's side end, install that onto that. Go over to the passenger's side, match it up with that notch there, like so. Make sure our straps here, we'll slide them onto the bolts up to the side here, like so. We'll do that for the other side as well. more

Pilot Truck Bed Tailgate Gap Cover Review- Video

Today we are going to review and install, the Pilot Truck Bed Tailgate Gap Cover part number TR-101. Here's what our Pilot gap cover's going to look like once it's installed. Our gap cover's material is made from a commercial grade construction ABS plastic. It's stiff and durable, rust proof, but yet still flexible enough that we can close our tailgate. Our gap cover makes it nice an easy to clean out our truck, whether we're hauling rock, mulch, or just cleaning it up. It allows us to swiftly and easily shovel or sweep it out over the tailgate, preventing it from falling down between the pickup bed and the tailgate. Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado crew cab we're going to be doing a test fit of the Stongberg Carlson louvered classic locking fifth wheel tailgate. When you get this you're going to receive it with the louvered tailgate then these two plastic covers will be separate and you will have to secure them yourself. If we rotate it up you're going to have one screw on each end as well as the two in the center. This also comes with the nice safeties as well as the locking mechanisms are heavy duty and ready for your applications. This is going to be part number VGM-14-4000. Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Stromberg-Carlson 100 Series Open Design Fifth Wheel Tailgate. First things you're going to need to know is you're going to have two plates that are going to come in with your kit. You're going to have this one here, as well as one that'll fit the side. If you look down here on the end, you can see that we already put it in place. It'll come with the two screws to mount it as well. This will be part number VGM-14-100. You also have a rubber bushing that will go on the other side where you have the round outlet. more

Gorilla-Lift Tailgate - Trailer Tailgate - GL1 Review- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number GL-1. This is the gorilla lift utility trailer tailgate lift assist. It's a two-sided tailgate assist, which is a little bit different compared to other tailgate assists out on the market. It's going to attach to both side rails on a trailer, and it's actually a benefit because it's going to prevent the trailer gates from warping or the hinges from wear from uneven stress. So actually having it installed on both sides is a great benefit because it's going to extend or it can extend the life of the trailer gate. This unit, once installed, is going to reduce the lifting force that's necessary to lift or lower the tailgate, so it can be raised and lowered with virtually no effort. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Husky Liners line of aluminum premium fifth wheel louvered tailgates with locking handles. Now our Husky Liner tailgate, of course like all of them, it's going to have the deep cutout to allow us to get our fifth wheel in and out, get it connected easily. Now what really sets this tailgate apart from a lot of its competitors are its heavy duty construction. It's an aluminum material fully welded throughout. With the latches in place on both sides it's even going to be capable of holding up to 200 pounds. Today in our 2003 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 Series Heavy Duty, we're doing a test fit of the Husky Liners Premium Fifth Wheel Louvered Tailgate with Locking Handle inAluminum part number HL15330. The Husky Liner Tailgate is a custom fit tailgate which features a convenient cut out for towing your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer. The tailgate is made of a lightweight aluminum construction, as well as being louvered. This design helps boost your vehicle's gas mileage. Now to begin with, it's a good idea to get an extra set of hands. To remove the old tailgate, we'll go ahead and hold the tailgate at about a 45 degree angle, and then we'll undo each of the safety cables from each side. We can lift the passenger's side off first. more

Rackem Double Barrel Trailer Tailgate Assist Installation- Video

Today on our utility trailer, we'll be installing the Rackem Double Barrel trailer gate assist, part number RA-27C. To begin with, we will need to go ahead and mark the four holes that we'll need to drill in our trailer, two in the gate where our chain will hook to the support bracket for lifting the gate up and down, and two on the actual side rail of the trailer. Once we have all four holes marked, we'll go ahead and begin drilling. The two gate holes will be a little bit smaller, and we can go ahead and just drill them straight through. Now for the section that has the springs in it that will mount to the side of our trailer, we're going to go ahead and start with the smaller drill bit first, and then go ahead and step up to the actual size. With all the holes drilled, we'll go ahead and mount the double spring mechanism on the side of the trailer. more

Husky Liners Tailgate Installation - 2003 Ford F-250- Video

Today on our 2003 Ford F250 were going to install the Husky Truck Bed Accessory Tailgate part number HL15130. First, well need to go ahead and remove the manufacturers tailgate cables. To do this well remove the torque headed bolt and set the cables and hardware aside. Then we can go ahead and remove the tailgate by hinging the tailgate to a 45 degree angle and pulling up on the passengers side and sliding the drivers side toward the passengers side to remove the tailgate completely. Before we can install the cable onto the new tailgate well first need to remove the old hardware. To do this, well need to remove the hold down washer and spacer. more
