Today on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, new body style, we'll be having a look at the Husky Liners Premium 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with Locking Handles, part number HL15240. It's a nice streamlined, aerodynamic look that follows all of the body lines of our truck bed nicely. It is constructed of a nice aluminum finish that won't rust or corrode over time. We have our nice cutout here for when we're towing our 5th wheel or a goose-neck trailer, we don't have to worry about having the tailgate down in order to doing tight maneuvering or backing up to it to uncouple or couple. Husky Liners Tailgate Installation - 2009 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today on our 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, we'll be installing the Husky Liners Premium 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with Locking Handle, part number HL15240. As you can see, our tailgate fits very nicely on our vehicle. It has a nice, contoured look, and follows the lines of our bed nicely. Now, if we want to secure our tailgate, it is locking, so we can insert the key, turn it counter-clockwise, remove the key, and now the handle can't be opened and it'll secure our tailgate onto our vehicle to prevent theft. Now, when we want to open our tailgate again, just insert the key, turn it clockwise, remove the key. We'll pull back on the handle and lower the tailgate on down. As you can see, it'll allow us to easily tow our 5th Wheel trailer without having to worry about when we're making turns, having possible damage to our tailgate. more

Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, we'll be installing the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with Lock, part number VGM-07-4000. Now, we'll go hook up to a gooseneck trailer, so you can see what it's like with the tailgate there. Has a nice included lock so we can lock it in place. As you can see along this edge and this edge over here, we have a very factory-like appearance, very like our original tailgate, fits very nicely. We have these nice slats right here, so we can have air flowing through it, so we don't hurt our fuel economy quite as bad as we would with a normal tailgate in the upright position. The first thing we need to do is remove our tailgate. Now, if your tailgate has the included backup camera in it right by the handle, you'll need to unplug that first. You'll find a connection for that behind where your license plate is. more

Today, on our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado classic, we'll be taking a look at the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series Fifth Wheel Tailgate with the open design for GM trucks. Part number VGM-99-100. As you can see, this has a nice, clean design. For anybody that's looking to put a fifth wheel or gooseneck in the back of the vehicle, they'll be able to carry it with no problems and have plenty of room here. In addition to giving you better fuel economy and preventing that wind drag, it's also going to give you the ability to place items in the bed of your truck without worrying about it sliding out the back if you had to remove your tailgate beforehand. You can see it's going to be very easy to operate. It's going to be nice and sturdy here with your nice little rubber bump stops on the other side. To open it up, you'll just pull in on the rings and drop it down. Now, by those bump stops, I mean on the back side here, which will help keep down on any kind of vibration or anything you might have in your tailgate. Lift it back up, pull the pins, and secure it in place. It's also going to have that nice, black, powder coat finish that's going to help to prevent any kind of rust and corrosion. more

For a tailgate in place, let's go ahead and cover some of the details. First off you've got a vented design right here which allows a lot of visibility when you're hitching up to your trailer, or general driving around your truck when you're backing up to something. Now we do do have a generous cut out right here for your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer. At the bottom it's going to be about 14 inches across at its narrowest point, and at the top we'll say 33 inches. Stromberg Carlson Tailgate Installation - 2005 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

On this 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to show you a Stromberg Carlson 4000 series fifth wheel and gooseneck tailgate, part number VGN dash 07 dash 4000. Taking our first look at the tailgate, you can see it has a generous opening for your fifth wheel, or in this case, gooseneck hitch in this truck. You don't have to worry about lowering your tailgate to hook up. Continue with the look of it, you can see how this edge of a tailgate matches the body work above the tail light, also matches the curve of the tail light as well, matches the seam right here, and also the bodywork below the tail light. Now, I want to take a little bit closer look at the louvers here, how the air can pass through the tailgate. The gap is probably a little under half an inch. This tailgate is a composite construction, which means you got the plastic outside, which really saves on the weight of the tailgate, but also on the inside, we lower it, we can see the steel components as well that gives it the strength. more

Husky Liners Tailgate Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be doing an installation of the Husky Liners Premium 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with the Locking Handle, part number HL15240. You can see the louvered tailgate once it's installed. Of course, we've got the drop down to allow for our use next to things like that to be connected without any problem. This is also going to give us an advantage in that this is about half the weight of a standard steel tailgate. It's also louvered. While we're dropping weight in the truck just like the new cars coming out, they don't have spare tires to help with fuel economy, losing weight is going to help us with our fuel economy, and this louvered design is going to allow air to pass through rather than be caught in there. It can really help to improve our fuel economy. This is a locking tailgate. more

Access TrailSeal Full Truck Bed Protection Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video

Today on 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab, we're going to be installing the Access TrailSeal Full Bed Protection for Chevy and GMC pickup trucks in a new body style, part number 834532001453. To begin our installation, we're going to need to install the foam blocks that go up underneath the bed rail. We'll be installing a small block up here at the front, two small blocks here in the middle and one large foam block here at the rear. We're going to start up here on the front corner of the bed. You'll notice how there's a big hole underneath the bed right here on the side wall. This right here is how the foam block will be put in. It will be the same for all three of the small ones on this side. You'll start out by smashing it down. You'll need to work it into the opening. more

Today, on this 2007 Chevrolet Silverado new body extended cab, we're going to install part number VGM-07-4000. This is a Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th wheel louvered tailgate. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and remove our tailgate. We'll go ahead and take some tension off the cables and we'll go ahead and remove the cables. Typically, you pick up a corner here and then we can pull it out away from the truck. Okay, now installing your new tailgate pretty much reverses the order of removing the original tailgate. Now, the tailgate does come with some special bushings that will fit on the end where it slides in. However, in this truck, we didn't have to use any of them. more

Were going to start off with our tailgate already removed and well go ahead and take the new tailgate and put it into place. First off, we are going to take the bushing that comings with the tailgate, install it on the pin on the driver side. Then well take the tailgate and slide it over that bushing and then we can go ahead and install the tailgate just like any other tailgate. Well go ahead and take the latch and well pull it in a little bit on each side and then push the tailgate into place until it snaps in. Well start off by sliding the tailgate into the hinge onto the drives side, then well go over to the passengers side, line up the hinge, put the tailgate at about a 45 degree angle and slide it into place. Well go ahead and push it up until our latches meet the pins on the bed. Now well do one pin at a time. more

Today on our 2011 Chevy Silverado, we'll be test fitting the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate with open design part # VGM-07-100. Before we can install our tailgate, we'll need to assemble the latches. To do this, we'll first remove the cotter pins and install the split rings under the latch. This will be your handle of sorts for the latch locks. Next we'll go ahead and take the machine screws and lock nuts and attach the latch assembly to the tailgate. You set right in the middle of adjustment points on the tailgate. more

Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, we'll be installing the Stromberg Carlson Louvered 5th-Wheel Tailgate, part number VGM-07-4000. And with that, we'll go ahead and start our installation. We'll go ahead and review the contents of the product. We have two cables, a set of keys for the tailgate, a plastic insert that will go with the rubber tailgate insert, two bolts, four wood screws, four machine screws, and four clips for the machine screws.
