Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Ford Escape- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the CURT Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2019 Ford Escape. This is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed, and the great part is it is a hidden cross tube. So really the only thing that you're gonna see on the exterior of the vehicle is gonna be the receiver tube opening and the safety chain loops as the rest of it does hide behind the fascia. So you get a nice clean look and all the usability of your hitch. And this one being a 2 inch by 2 inch means that you have tons of options for ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo carriers as this is kind of the standard size that you see on many hitches. And all of your accessories are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look and installing the etrailer trailer hitch receiver on a 2022 Ford Escape. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed and the great part about it is it's gonna be a hidden cross tube meaning that really the only thing that you're gonna see of the hitch is gonna be the receiver end here as well as your safety chain loops. And another great thing is it's a two inch by two inch which is gonna be a really nice standard size for a bunch of different applications, so if you're looking at ball mounts, bike racks or cargo carriers, you have plenty of options available. Now when you do put your accessories in place, you are gonna need to pick up a pin and clip. A lot of your accessories will come with them and you're gonna need a 5/8th pin and that's gonna hold all your accessories in place. more

So, regardless on if it's a hybrid or not or regardless on whatever type of sub model you have, the hitch just gonna bolt up and work like it should. And that's gonna kind of bring me to my next point. And that is if the hitch is going to interfere with your hands free lift gate assist, and the answer is no, it still is going to work. Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the etrailer class three custom fit trailer hitch receiver on our 2019 Ford escape. Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. It's going to have a really clean, almost factory appearance, and that's because our crosstube's going to be completely hidden behind the bumper and all we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out, and the matte black finish line does lend it to blending in pretty well at the bottom. It's not those high gloss finishes that you typically see on hitches. The flat black's going to hide dirt really well and hide scratches really nicely. But it is a class three so it's going to give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening and have the widest variety of options when it comes to accessories that we can mount out.But whether you're going to use your hitch for a ball mount to tow a trailer, put a bike rack in there so we can hit the trail, or if we just need a cargo carrier, free up some space on the inside, all of our accessories are going to mount to the hitch pin hole here on the side. more

The way we're gonna mount all of our accessories is to the hitch pin hole, here on the side and it is gonna accept a standard five eighths pinning clip. Now these are not included in the kit, but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com along with locking devices to keep your accessories secure.And then our safety chain connection points are gonna be a loop cell welded to the bottom. As you can see, we're not gonna have too much trouble getting most size hooks on or off. more

It's going to have a rolled steel style safety chain loop, it's going to fit different sized safety chain hooks. Now as far as weight capacities go with this hitch, you're going to have a 350 pound max tongue weight, which is a down ward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube, you're going to have a 3500 pound max trailer weight, which is a trailer plus the load included. more

This forward hole here it's gonna be five-eighths inch hitch pin hole, this back hole here this is gonna be for a J-pin stabilization device only. The J-Pin stabilization device is gonna take the shake and play out of any of your hitch mounted accessories. It's gonna have ring style safety chain loops, you can see it gives you plenty of room for different size safety chain hooks. Another nice thing about this hitch is you're gonna have your pre-welded plate for any wiring accessories you may have if you're pulling a trailer.Now you're gonna have a max tongue weight of 525 pounds, that's the downward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube. We're gonna have a max trailer weight of 3,500, that's the trailer plus the load included. more

Now the first thing you'll notice about this hitch is that even though our crosstube sticks below the vehicle, it does follow the lines of our vehicle nicely giving us a nice clean look. On the side of our receiver, you'll find our industry standard 1/2" diameter hitch pinhole to secure any of our hitch-mounted accessories. You can pick up a pin and clip separately on our website as part number PC2. Welded on the bottom of our receiver is our plate-style safety chain loops. Now, these have a very large opening, so we shouldn't have much problem with any hooking on most safety chains from our trailer.Now, this particular hitch is going to work great for you if you already have Class I and Class II accessories, such as bike racks and cargo carriers. more

Here's what our hitch looks like installed. Now one thing this hitch has that others on the market don't have is this bracket right here, which is welded to our hitch. This serves as an attachment point for any wiring harnesses that we may have in order to tow our trailer. We have several different wiring harnesses available at our website and several different mounting brackets that will attach to this to secure whichever wiring harness you need for your vehicle.On the side of our receiver here you'll find two holes. This larger one towards the front of the vehicle, that's our industry-standard 5/8" diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of our hitch-mounted accessories. more

Its part number is 75751. Now here's what our hitch is going to look like installed on the Escape. See our crosstube meets at the middle at our receiver tube opening. Portion of this crosstube is going to be hidden where the brackets go up to the frame, but you will be seeing this center section on the rear of your vehicle. Now this is a Class 3 hitch so it has the 2" by 2" receiver tube opening. That's going to make it extremely versatile. more

Today on our 2017 Ford Escape, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw Tite Custom Fit Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 75782. Here's what our hitch looks like fully installed. It's going to sit right below our bumper and all we're really going to see is the main receiver tube right here. Now this is a Class 3, so it's going to give you that 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening and it does have a reinforced collar, giving it that nice, clean finished look. As far as the safety chain loops, it's like a rolled steel stock style, and they're going to be welded to the bottom of the receiver tube. Now, as you can see, we're not going to have any issues with most sized hooks, getting them on or off. We don't have to worry about interfering with anything. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Ford Escape - Curt- Video
Today on our 2017 Ford Escape, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Class 2 Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C12111. Here's what our hitch looks like fully installed. It's going to be a class two, so we're going to have that inch and a quarter, by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening. It's going to be tucked up just right underneath our bumper. It has a reinforced receiver tube collar which is going to give it added strength, but also giving it a nice finished look. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Ford Escape - Curt- Video
Today on our 2014 Ford Escape, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver to the Class 3 hitch, part number C13186. Here's what the hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, there isn't a whole lot visible other than this receiver tube because that cross tube is nicely tucked up behind the fascia here. If you're looking for something that is going to be primarily used for bike racks and cargo carriers but occasionally to pull a trailer, this is going to be a really good bet. Here we've got the standard 1/2-inch hitch pin hole that's going to be used to secure anything into our receiver tube, along with our surrounded steel safety chain loops that are just welded to the underside here.
