Manufactured from low carbon steel, the pin portion of this linchpin has a Rockwell hardness Ra 50-60 with a 60-kg load. The ring portion is hot drawn spring steel. Zinc plated to resist corrosion.

A good reason to replace an old linchpin is if it's worn out, the ring doesn't move quite as well as it used to. We wanna keep that snap and keep it in place.
