Wiring Brake Controller on 2008 Chevrolet Suburban 2500

Question:

Alright, I just bought a 2008 chevrolet suburban 2500 6.0. i am looking to install my electric brake controller. i have done the research and everything seems to indicate that i should have two wires to connect to the poles on my fuse box. I only have one wire. The wire that i can find is that red and black wire that was taped up under the master cylinder. The other wire that i am supposed to have is nowhere to be found. Help!!! I dont know what to do.

The power supply wire you are looking for should be taped up on the cab side of your junction box. Some times it is tucked down and hard to see and has to be fished out.

If it is not there you can run a wire from the junction box into the cab and splice it to the black wire on the brake controller.

Check out the FAQ on installing a brake controller on a similar vehicle at right, and the video of the Tekonsha Brake Controller being installed on a 2008 Suburban. The installation will be similar.
