Alternate Installation Method for Installing Curt Hitch # C31071 on 2015 Silverado 3500

The installation instructions are wrong. The hitch has such tight tolerances that the bolts can only be fished through after the hitch is jacked into place. They should advise that the vehicle has to be raised with a jack to be able to then jack the hitch into place for installation. Very tight fit.

Thanks for letting us know how the install of the Curt Hitch part # C31071 went on your 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500. Sometimes hitches can get slightly bent in shipping which can cause the clearances to be tighter than intended. I am not 100% that is what happened in your situation but it is possible. Either way I am glad you got it figured out and installed.

As long as you get all of the bolts installed and torqued to the specs in the installation instructions the way you get everything into position isn't quite as important. Sometimes it does take a bit of improvising.
