Rota Flex King Pin on Fifth Wheel Not Level, Making it Difficult to Unhitch Trailer
Question:
The king pin is at a severe angle and will not allow me to release from my hitch. I have a new Curt 20K hitch and the rig would not come off. Curt replaced the head for me and now it still will not allow the jaws to open on the hitch. The angle of the plate and king pin is not allowing the weight to come off of the hitch. After looking at the other rigs in my park I realized that it was not a hitch problem but an issue with my Trail Air hitch. The plate and king pin do not level out and become parallel to the hitch head. Can it be adjusted? Loosened so that it rotates to a level position? I have a 2014 Blue Ridge by Forest River and a 2014 Q20 roller hitch by Curt. Any help would be appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is that your UltraFab Rota Flex pin box might be installed incorrectly. The skid plate that surrounds the king pin should be parallel to the ground when hitching and unhitching.
Check the turret where the pin box bolts onto the fifth wheel, and make sure the pin box is bolted so that its level.
Also, is it possible you're not jacking the front of your fifth wheel high enough for the king pin to level out?
