Items Needed When Towing A Ford F-250 With Another Ford F-250
Question:
My tow vehicle is a Ford F250 with a standard proportional brake controller which works quite well with the electric brakes on my equipment trailer. I need to be able to tow my Show F250. Will this towed vehicle brake system work correctly with the brake controller on my tow vehicle?

Expert Reply:
The proportional brake controller you have in your Ford F-250 is intended to be used when towing a trailer, and is not designed to work to control brakes on a towed vehicle. I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains brake controllers you can check out.
If you are planning on flat-towing a vehicle it requires 5 things. Those are base plates on the towed vehicle, a tow bar to attach between the towing and towed vehicle, safety cables, lighting on the towed vehicle, and now most states require a supplemental brake system.
If you need any of these items and wish to flat-tow a vehicle, let me know the year vehicles and I will be happy to make some recommendations that will work for you.
