Base Plates for Flat Towing 2014 Ford Fusion SE Hybrid

We have a roadmaster Sterling 011921 on our motorhome and would like to tow our 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid behind our motorhome. Could you tell me when the base plate for this car will be available. Thanks.

The base plate fits for your 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid will depend on the version of the vehicle that you have.

If you have the SE model (with no adaptive cruise control) you can use Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2646. All base plate fits are shown on the linked page. Select your SE Hybrid vehicle style from the drop-down menu to see your options. (Choose either SE Hybrid with adaptive cruise control or without it.)

The linked article on flat towing will give you information on all of the components required for safe and legal flat towing.

The tow bar I recommend is the Blue Ox Alpha # BX7380 because it includes the required safety cables. For lighting I suggest the easy-to-use Magnetic Tow Lights - Red LEDs - 4-Way Flat # PE26UR which does not require any cutting or splicing into your car's wiring. For a supplemental braking system, which is required by law in most states, I recommend Blue Ox's Patriot # BLU37TR.

Before attempting to flat tow your vehicle, you need to carefully review your owner's manual. Not all vehicles can be flat towed without some preparation and/or additional equipment.
