Hitch, Cargo Carrier and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2010 Honda Fit
Question:
I have a 2010 Honda Fit, automatic. I want to put a 1 1/4 Class I hitch on it so I can put on a bike rack that will hold 2 bikes. I also want to get a small carrier like the Curt Cargo Carrieror maybe the one that sits a bit higher. I just need extra room when I go camping with my granddaughters so I wont be hauling anything very heavy. I am a bit worried that a carrier will sit too close to the ground-my car is already low. Also, I am not clear if I would need to have the lights on it. what would you recommend? Looks like you get great reviews for service and products by the way! Congratulations

First let's start with a hitch. For that I would recommend the Curt Hitch part # C11064. This hitch would do well to carry a bike rack and cargo carrier. Check out the install video I attached.
For a cargo carrier confirmed to fit this hitch with rise built into the shank to help with ground clearance I would recommend the Reese # 63155 which measures 49-1/2" long x 21-1/2" wide x 5-1/2" tall, and has a 3" lift on the shank to help with ground clearance. You would need to use a stabilizer
The most popular bike rack we carry is the Swagman XTC-2 # S64670. This rack should work well for you and is confirmed to fit Class I hitches like what you have. Check out the review video I attached.
You would also need to use the stabilizer strap # 18050 when using a bike rack or cargo carrier with this hitch.
