5th Wheel Trailer Hitch to Fit Under Roll & Lock Bed Cover on 2014 Ram 2500 Short Bed
Question:
Can you tell me if a roll and lock cargo bed cover can be used with a 5th wheel? It appears I have 16 inches from top to bottom for the roll and lock to work when not towing but am concerned that the 5th wheel may not pass over it? I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 6.4 inch bed.

5th Wheel trailer hitches are height adjustable. You just need to find one that can be adjusted down low enough to fit under the cover on the bed of your 2014 Ram 2500 short bed.
Reese Hitch # RP30075 and Reese Hitch # RP30051 are good options since they are height adjustable from 13 to 17 inches. The lowest setting cannot be used since they are slider hitches for short bed trucks but that shouldn't matter with these hitches.
You will just need the proper installation kit, # C16427-204.
It will still likely be a tight fit but these hitches are your best options. Worst case scenario you will need to unbolt the head from the rest of the hitch.
