Recommendedations To Change 4-Way Connector On Trailer To 7-Way Connector
Question:
I have a trailer with a 4 pole connector wiring harness, and I would like to change it to a 7 pole wiring harness so I dont have to locate my adapter each time I need to tow the trailer. Do you sell a product that can fullfil my wish to convert my trailer from 4 pole to 7 pole?

It sounds like you want a permanent change from the 4-way connector to a 7-way connector on your trailer.
We carry trailer-end 7-way connectors and the one I recommend is the Pollak Metal 7-Pole Connector, part # PK12702. This is a blade-style connector. If you have a round-pin connector on your vehicle I recommend part # PK11700.
This would require cutting the 4-way connector off your trailer. You would need to test the wires on the trailer using a 12V power source to see what each of the wire functions are. I recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993.
You would then need to use the circuit tester to test each wire on the 7-way installed on the vehicle for function, and then attach the trailer wires to the appropriate pins on the new connector so they match. If the 7-way on your vehicle has functions, they would not be available on the trailer side. I have attached a helpful article that explains trailer wiring you can check out.
My recommendation is to use an adapter that will attach to the 4-way connector like part # PK12716, on your trailer, and plugged into the vehicle 7-way connector. This would give you the capability to tow a trailer that has the 4-way connector as you said you have, or to tow a trailer with a 7-way connector.
