Hitch-Mount 2-Bike Rack Recommendation for Heavy Bikes for 2018 Acura RDX
Question:
Hi, I am looking for a 2 bike rack for my Acura 2018 RDX. I ride a big old (totally cool!) vintage beach cruiser kind of bike and my husband has an electric bike. The BC is 45-lbs and the e-bike is 61-lbs. I notice most racks are not able to deal with such heavy bikes, and I know trunk racks are a no-go due to the weight. The RDX has the 2-inch type hitch on the back. Can you help us?

Since your RDX already has a 2-inch hitch like Draw-Tite # 75784 you are all set for installing a 2-bike carrier for your beach cruiser and electric bike. We do have a rack that will fit your hitch, handle your bikes' higher weights and also be exceptionally easy to use: The Thule Easy Fold platform carrier # TH903202 which is shown in the review video I linked for you.
This platform style carrier will fit both 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches, it handles two bikes up to 65-lbs each, it includes locks for the rack and for your bikes, it includes a foot-operated tilt mechanism that makes it easier to get into the back of the vehicle when you need to and it even includes a built-in loading ramp so those heavy bikes never have to be lifted. Roll them up the ramp then stow the ramp on the rack. It also folds up to a compact size and includes roller wheels to make it easy to move it around the garage.
