Replacement 8-Inch Trailer Wheels With 5-on-4-1/2-Inch Bolt Pattern

Question:

Hey, can you help me? Im looking to replace 1, maybe two rusted out old wheels on an old boat trailer from 1952, but I cant find a wheel to fit it anywhere and Im hoping maybe you have one. It is an 8inch rim with a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. But what is messing me up is the pilot diameter is larger than anything I can find in that size of wheel. By my measurements it is 3.25. The tire itself is about 16inch in diameter and 4.5 width, but that isnt terribly important because it needs to be replaced as well. I can go with a slightly larger diameter if need be. With the current wheels I have about 3inch of clearance in the wheel wells, but the pilot diameter and bolt pattern need to be the same obviously. Do you have anything that might work for me? I couldnt find anything on your site but I thought maybe you could as you seem to have a pretty big inventory. Thanks.

We do offer wheels and tire/wheel combinations in the 8-inch diameter and 5-on-4-1/2-inch bolt pattern you need, however none has as large a pilot hole as your original wheels' 3-1/4-inch size. All have a 2.8-inch pilot hole diameter and can be seen on the link provided.

Given the 60+ year age of the trailer you may need to update your hubs to allow use of readily available wheels.

Selection of new hubs requires your axle weight rating, bearing and seal numbers or spindle measurements as shown in the linked photo.
