There are several different ways to attach a trailer hitch to a trailer frame. With I-beam frames, a trailer hitch like the Curt Adjustable Motorhome Hitch, # C13701, could be welded to the underside of the frame rail. This would prevent any interference with the middle of the I-beam. This trailer hitch can fit frame widths of 18 inches to 51 inches.

Since the middle of the I-beam frame is corrugated, I recommend contacting your trailer manufacturer to see if the trailer's frame can support pulling another trailer or carrying an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. Some trailer hitch manufacturers say a trailer hitch should not be installed because the frame cannot support the additional load.

If you can tell me the year, make, model and VIN of your trailer, I would be happy to do some research on your specific setup.
