Question:
Can a Skybox be mounted on the Yakima roof rack system recommended for a 2014 Nissan Altima 4 door? What is the weight capacity? Recommended Skybox position?

The Yakima Roof Rack System Is a good fit for your 2014 Nissan Altima 4 door. The weight capacity for the roof rack is 100 lbs. That would include the weight of any cargo box you choose added to the weight of any cargo you place in the carrier. The front crossbar is placed 15-1/8 inches from the windshield. The crossbar spread is 24 inches. You need the following parts for the roof rack:
48 inch RoundBars # Y00408
BaseLine Towers # Y28TR
RoundBar Adapter # Y03536
BaseClips # Y06137 and # Y06127
Due to the roof weight capacity on your Altima, my recommendation would be to use a cargo bag instead of a cargo box. The smallest Skybox we offer is the Skybox 12, part # Y07334. The weight of this box is 41 lbs. That would allow you to carry an additional 59 lbs of cargo.
I recommend a roof basket like part # Y07070. This would attach to the crossbars on the roof of your Altima and allow you to keep everything off of the roof surface of your vehicle. This basket weighs just 25 lbs.
The cargo bag I recommend is the Rightline, part # RL100S20. This is a 15 cu ft weather resistant bag that measures 44 inches long and would work well with a cargo basket.
