Connecting Blue Brake Control Wire From 7-Way Connector On 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup
Question:
i have the p3 also adapter 3020-p and 37185 the problem i am having is which wire on the factory side do i hook the blue wire to that comes from the 7 way? the 4 colors are black,green,red/tan,and wht/tan. this is on the truck side under the dash. i tested them and two of them go hot when the brake pedal is depressed. one has more power running through it than the other according to the light on my tester. i guess i am confused. which one is for this.

If you have the connector under your dash that the # 3020-P connects to, it will be located near the top of the emergency brake pedal arm near the left side of the firewall next to a white connector.
If you do have the connector and using the 3020-P harness, you can sever the blue wire on the # 3020-P and connect it to the blue wire from the # 37185 7-way connector at the rear of your 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. You can use a wire like part # 10-1-1 to run the wire from the # 37185 to the # 3020-P under the dash.
The blue wire that runs from the connector under the dash on your truck is normally on the drivers side tucked up near the wheel well, but when our installer are adding brake controllers many times it is difficult to find and they will just run a new wire to the front under the dash to connect the brake controller wire.
