Can Wire Cover for Right Fender Clearance Trailer Light be Trimmed to Fit a Fender

Question:

I am considering the Redline 13-14 inch fender and need clearance lights also. This BA44FNR is over 8 inches and the fender is 7 inches. can you cut off the tailpiece of is it all needed for attaching? Other suggestions? Actually I need all lights/reflectors for an over 80 utility trailer.

Expert Reply:

The little tail piece that sticks out is meant to cover and protect the wiring of light # BA44FNR and is therefore not structurally necessary for mounting the light. So you could trim it down as needed. I have linked a video review of the light for you. The matching left fender light is # BA44FNL.

I have included a picture that shows the over 80 inch requirements for trailers for you. You will need rear clearance lamps, rear identification lamps, and front clearance lamps. The location and quantity is noted in the picture.

If the trailer is also rated for 10,000 pounds or more then you will also need rear upper body markings, bumper marking marking, rear lower body marking, and side marking.
