What is Difference Between Ball Mount with Vertical or Angled Ball Mount Platform
Question:
My current hitch has pin holes that are becoming obling. It is a 6 inch that is straight down. What is the difference in the Curts that had a that is angular?

Hey Greg, so the Curt ball mount part # C45070 does have 6 inches of drop but the ball mount platform like you noticed does angle down instead of go vertical like what you have now. One style isn't necessarily better than the other but the angled style does add some length to the ball mount setup which could be helpful for if you were having turn clearance issues. Some couplers are pretty tall on the front (like old Atwood Actuators) so having the angled ball mount would allow for a bit more clearance like if you were making a steep incline transition but that's not normally something factored.
Someone might prefer the vertical style like you have now if they didn't want to add any additional length to their trailer setup beyond what they absolutely had to have.
