Electric Trailer Jack Recommendation for a 7,500 lb Boat Trailer

Question:

What is the best brand electric boat trailer jack? And how do I know what size to get? My boat and trailer is probably 7,500 pounds. I dont have a clue what the tongue weight is. I could hook it up to a weigh safe hitch and see what it says? Thank you!

Hey Ryan, thanks for reaching out!

The only true electric trailer jack made to fit a standard boat trailer with a pole tongue is the Fulton XLT Powered Drive Trailer Jack # F141401. Even though this is the only option available, Fulton has added some provisions (like the ZMax finish and stainless ACME screws) to help make it more durable and built to resist corrosion from water.

A properly loaded trailer will have a tongue weight that is 10-15% the weight of the fully loaded trailer so you'll need a jack that can handle 750 lbs - 1,125 lbs which is easily achieved by this trailer jack.

This is powered via 12V DC power so you'll either need to connect this to a battery on your boat trailer, or you can use a Junction Box Kit # 3430001-JBK to connect the power and grounds to your 7-Way connector.
