What Do the SH and PL error codes Mean for a Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller

Question:

I have a Tekonsha Primus IQ not sure of the model number- but had this controller installed in 2022. I have never been able to have it function to read voltsfoot from 0.0-13, the only option is to set the gain/numbers from 0-36. No decimal between numbers, the .c. decimals are present when connected and running. Is there a setting where I am able to see the volts? Is this something that the product implemented in their later models? *Also just recently my controller threw the SH code, now when applying breaks the numbers junp around sporadically or just simply throws the PL code. Would the numbers jumping around happen in a shortting scenario? Why elses could this happen? Thanks!

So, it looks like the error code SH is stating a short somewhere on the brake output circuit, and the PL code means that there is power interrupted when stepping on the brakes.

This to me would indicate that there is a definitely a short in your wiring. I recommend going through your wires and look for any broken or damaged wiring. When you've found the wiring that's damaged, you'll just need to repair the wire and check again to see if the codes are still being thrown.
