Running Light Pin has Power All the Time on Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2008 Volvo XC90
Question:
Why is the brown coming to the 4 pin always hot? We have hooked up everything according to the instructions. All turn signals and brakes work correctly, just the lights are always on as long as the wiring is connected to the vehicle/trailer. Have actually installed your wiring harness previously in a 2006 Volvo XC 90 and didnt have this issue.

Helpful Expert Reply:
If the trailer has LED lights then it is possible that there is some bleed over because wiring harness # 118411 is a powered converter. To see if this is the issue you can unplug the fuse from the fuse holder. If the issue stops then this is likely what the problem was.
If the trailer does not have LED lights then it could be some corrosion where the harness connects to the vehicle on the drivers side. Look for dirt or corrosion and also any bent of broken pins.
If this continues to happen and you have a good clean ground, no bent or broken pins, and no corrosion then the likely issue is inside the converter box and harness will have to be replaced.
