Recommended Trailer Jack With Shortest Retracted Dimension

Question:

With this jack bolted on to the tongue of the trail and in its most retracted state how much further below the tongue will the foot be? My issue becomes when I lower the wheels on my fish house the whole frame and tongue sits flat on the ice. I do put some wood pieces under each corner of the fish house like a 2 x 4 which would mean the tongue would have a 2 x 4 under it too so the base of the jack would almost need to be flush - 1 1/2inch below the trailer tongue. Im assuming the foot sets lower than that? Assuming thats true do you have other options? I thought of a spare tire mount that the jack could bolt to. The trailer tongue measures 2 1/4 inch x 3 1/4inch outside measurement. Also I wouldnt need a 2500# lift if you have lighter weight ones. Thanks

The etrailer Square, Fixed-Mount Marine Jack, part # MJSQ-2500B, you referenced is a fixed position jack. The jack leg would protrude below the level of the trailer tongue and would not be the flatter surface you said you are looking for.

The closest to 1-1/2 inches you said you need is the Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jack with Footplate, parts # BD018161 and # BD018520. This is a weld-on system with a 750 lb lift capacity, and measures 2-1/2 inches fully retracted. This jack has a lift distance of 16 inches.
