Troubleshooting Brake Controller of 2014 Ram 2500 Stopped Working When Accy Circuit Fuse Blew
Question:
I had blown a fuse on my 14 Ram 2500 6.4l to the 12v power outlet in the dashboard. It took out the power to the aftermarket brake controller I had professionally installed. After finding and replacing the fuse, I have power to the power outlet but not to my brake controller. Also no trailer lights. Any suggestions???

If the guy who installed your brake controller did his homework he should have gotten power for the brake controller from the factory wiring that was designed for brake controller installs and not from the 12 volt accessory circuit that you replaced the fuse on. So I would check to see where the black wire of you brake controller wiring is ran to. There should be a separate fuse for the brake controller power circuit though which would be the correct one to replace to get the controller going again.
