Can Second Bike Holder of RockyMounts WestSlope Bike Rack be Removed
Question:
Is this rack able to be assembled and used without the use of the second bike holder? I mostly want to use it for one bike and would not like all the extra material blocking my trunk or for my bike or the mount to stick out further than necessary. But the option of hauling a second bike is nice.

You could leave off installing the outside wheel clamp of the RockyMounts WestSlope bike rack part # RKY10222 but you can't shorten the frame of the rack where the wheel mounts are.
For a bike rack with a smaller footprint that can carry up to two bikes that might be more what you are looking for the Saris SuperClamp EX part # SA4025F would be a really good option that's lighter in weight and much smaller overall.
