Mounting Orientation Of Gooseneck Coupler Head # 291300

Question:

Does the locking pin go in the front or the back when assembled to the trailer before installation and welding? My guess is that the rounded surface is to the front of the trailer and the flat surface with the pun to the rear- please verify. Thank you.

I spoke with my contact at Redline about the Gooseneck Coupler Head, part # 291300. They said the mounting orientation of the pin should not make any difference when installed. My recommendation would be to mount it so that the pin is the easiest to access for you.
