Why Wouldn't Trailer Jack Work Connected to Power Source of 7-Way

Question:

I upgraded the wiring on a electric trailer Jack to 10 gauge and to a seven way plug to fasten to my truck trailer plug. It won’t work. Is the wire in the truck plug to small for this application or am I going at it wrong.

It's possible the 12 volt accessory circuit of your 7-way doesn't have the amperage required but it's also possible the circuit on the truck isn't active at all as that's a pretty common situation. Running 10 gauge wire from the positive terminal of the battery with part # 10-1-1 through a breaker like part # 9510 would solve either problem.
