Time-Delayed Brake Controller Recommendation for 2014 Honda Ridgeline
Question:
I have a 2014 Honda Ridgeline truck. I want to install a timed electric brake controller. My legs are very close to the dash and I would like the lowest profile one available. Which one would you recommend? Thanks

If your trailer uses electric brakes and if your 2014 Honda Ridgeline has a factory 7-way trailer connector at the back, then you can use a time-delayed type brake controller such as the Curt Venturer # C74VV along with a quick-connect wiring harness # C51392. The link provided will let you see all time-delayed units offered.
Time-Delay type brake controllers do not require the careful mounting angles of proportional types (which use internal sensors to determine braking level) so they can be mounted in any location you like. The linked article covers the benefits of these two types and may be helpful to you as you consider which will best suit your requirements.
If your Ridgeline is not equipped with a factory 7-way then you will also need a trailer brake controller install kit, part # ETBC7. Installation of this kit in a 2014 Honda vehicle is shown in the linked video and an article concerning brake controller installation is included.
Your vehicle must have a 4-pole trailer connector in order to use the # ETBC7 kit. If it does not have one, you can use # 118400 from TowReady. This 4-pole wiring harness simply plugs in to your vehicle tail light assemblies without need to cutting or splicing wires.
