Can Both The 7-Way And The 4-Way On The Hopkins HM40920 Be Used At The Same Time?

RE: Code: HM40920 NOTE: Your Expert QandA option has always been very helpful to me. Kudos~! Another customers question answered my first question regarding fitment of this item for my 2500 HD 2007 Silverado New Body. Positive. However, what I need to know now is will this 7way-4way plug allow me to plug in my 7-way for my car hauler trailer lighting/braking PLUS, plug in another set of 4-way magnet-mounted tail/brake/signal lights placed on the rear of my trailer at the same time, without overtaxing my trucks lighting circuit? My truck is equipped with an electric brake controller and my trailer has electric brakes on TWO 5K AXLES.

It is possible to use both the 7 way and the 4 way plug on the Hopkins Endurance Trailer Connector # HM40920 at the same time. Since both plugs use the same wiring, they will both be active at all times. That being said, using both at the same time could result in over drawing power which could lead to blown fuses, or other problems. We cannot recommend using both plugs at the same time.
