Are BoatBuckle Ratcheting Transom Tie Downs Strong Enough To Secure 2023 Sea-Doo Switch to Trailer?

Question:

Hello, I am looking at purchasing the BoatBuckle G2 transom straps but I wanted to make sure they are compatible for my boat. My boat and trailer are a combined 2906lbs, are these straps strong enough to use for it? I have an 18ft 2023 Sea-Doo Switch Cruise. Thank you for your help!

Yes, you should not have any issue using the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF08893 on your boat and trailer weighing 2,906lbs. The important thing to remember is you are securing 2 objects and as long as the lighter of the 2 )which is generally the trailer) does not exceed the weight capacity of all the straps securing the boat you should not have any issues. So each of these straps is rated for 833lbs or 1,666lbs for both straps plus you will have the weight rating for the front winch strap which is also holding the boat to the trailer.

You might also consider the Stainless Steel Tie-Downs # IMF14256 which will last longer over time. Do note these straps are rated slightly less at 500lbs each but that is still 1,000lbs which I would bet is less than the trailer weighs for your 2023 Sea-Doo Switch Cruise.
