A sliding fifth wheel hitch is recommended on all short bed trucks which will allow you additional clearance when making turns while towing. Numerous options are available for sliding fifth wheel hitches to fit your 2005 Chevrolet Silverado and have included a link which lists all of the available sliding hitches for your vehicle.
One option is the Curt Fifth Wheel Hitch with Slide Bar Jaw, # 16516, and Custom Installation Kit, # C16418-204. This hitch offers a 16,000 pound towing capacity and a three position height adjustment.
Another option is the Reese Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider, # RP30051, and Reese Install Kit, # RP50064-58. This hitch offers a 16,000 pound towing capacity and a four inch vertical adjustment. The dual jaw design will hold the king pin much more tightly for a better ride. This hitch is also quite a bit lighter in weight than the Curt hitch mentioned and might be easier to work with if you plan to remove the hitch frequently. I have attached a couple videos that may be of help to you.
