Recommended Low Profile Manual Trailer Jack For A 3,000 lb Rpod Trailer

Question:

I have an RPod180 travel trailer that weighs just a little over 3000 lbs fully loaded. I pull it with a Ford F150 with a Blue Ox WDH. The problem is that I can’t open my tailgate while the trailer is hitched. Do you have a recommendation for a manual jack that is strong enough to lift the truck to attach my WDH but is low enough to allow my tailgate to open. Thanks

That is a great question. I suggest taking a look at the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K. This is a 2,000 lb capacity jack, so more than enough for your Rpod 180 camper. The advantage of this jack is that it has adjustable height settings. So you can raise/lower the jack from the mounting bracket as needed. When it is adjusted to the lowest setting, there will be 7-1/2" from the bottom of the bracket to the top of the handle. Now I am not sure exactly how much space you have with your tailgate down, but an adjustable jack like this will definitely be your best bet.
