Zone Wattage Ratings For The Furrion RV Stereo # DV1230BL

Question:

I purchased the DV1230BL to replace my old AWM958. My 2016 Coachman Catalina Legacy Edition Travel Trailer 243RBS has 6 speakers which the DV1230BL supports. I only have two internal speakers and four external speakers. Based on what I have read it seems that Zone 1A and Zone 2B would be for my Four outside speakers and Zone 3C for my two internal speakers. I understand that Zone3 can be managed independently. So am I assuming that this would be my best setup for the my Zones? Also should I assume that Zone A and Zone B would support the 25 Watt output and that Zone C would be the 15 Watt, is that a correct assumption? The info below was all I could find out the different zones A=1, B-2 and C-3. DV1230BL has 3 zones that can be connected to up to 6 speakers. Zones A and B are linked to the speakers inside your RV, and zone C is linked to speakers on the outside. You can either play your preferred radio stations or you can connect your smartphone to Bluetooth so you can stream all your favorite songs on the fly. And zones A and B can be independently controlled from zone C, so you are able to turn down the sound inside your RV while your spouse simultaneously cranks the volume up outside. Note: ZONE 3 supports independent audio output control. The Manual states that for Total Power RMS 4x25W + 2x15W. So does that mean Zone A and B will be 4X25W and Zone C will only be 2X15W? Im kinda confused on how much power goes to each Zone and if there is any way to get the higher W for my two internal speakers. The majority of our entertainment needs will be inside the Travel Trailer using Zone C. I only have two inside speakers rather than four that the manual assumes. So are my assumptions correct and if not can you explain why? Respectfully, DV1230BL Owner

Helpful Expert Reply:

Zone 3 of the Furrion RV Stereo w/ DVD Player # DV1230BL would be the two speakers at 15w and Zones 1 and 2 would be the 4 speakers at 25w. Zone 3 can be managed independently so that the music can differ from what's being played inside the trailer. With your trailer being opposite of most trailers the best option is going to be wiring Zone 1 and 2 to the outside speakers and Zone 3 to the interior speakers so that you can separate the audio.

It's much easier to add in soundbars, subwoofers, amplifiers, etc. to increase the sound quality in the trailer than it would be for the exterior so the lower wattage zone being used inside really wouldn't be as big of an issue.
