Yes, I am sure it does work with a goosebox.

If you do not know what brand you have then there are other adapter options. You could use the Andersen Ranch Hitch, # AM3100. I have linked a video review of this adapter for you.

The best option is to replace the pin box on the 5th wheel trailer with a Reese Goose Box. The Goose Box mounts like a pin box but instead of a king pin that fits into a 5th wheel hitch, it has a gooseneck ball coupler.

There are 2 Goose Boxes and they only fit certain pin boxes. You will need to look at the trailer pin box for a sticker or plate that lists the pin box manufacturer and model number. Goose Box # RP85FR fits Lippert 0719, 1621 and 1621HD pin boxes as well as Fabex PB-600 Series pin boxes.

Goose Box # RP94716-61301 fits Lippert 0115, 1116 and 1716 pin boxes.

I have included a link to a help article that covers different adapters for towing a 5th wheel trailer with a gooseneck trailer hitch.
