How to Connect Brake Controller Wiring on a 2023 Ford Bronco Wildtrak Without OEM Package
Question:
I have a 2023 Bronco Wildtrak that does not have factory trailer option and want to install my Prodigy brake controller. Connor replied that 22292 is the correct harness for this application but did not cover what to do with the blue trailer brake wire in the harness for non factory trailer vehicles. My Bronco does have an empty female plug in the correct location above gas peddle. Does this blue wire in the plug go somewhere in the Bronco to use and where is it located, or do I need to cut wire and run my own wire to 7 pin plug

To get a brake controller and 7-Way wiring installed on your 2023 Ford Bronco Wildtrak you need the following:
- 4-Way Wiring Kit # C42WR (with LEDs) or # C87BR (without LEDs)
- Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7
- Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 22292
It doesn't look like the Bronco has any provisions for trailer wiring when the vehicle doesn't have a tow package, so I do recommend cutting the Blue wire from your OEM plug and running it to the brake controller pin on the ETBC7 with the included wiring. If you're able to trace that Blue wire back further on the vehicle then you can make the connection back there, but from what I could tell you need to cut and run new wiring for the Blue wire.
