Determining Correct Replacement Bearings, Seals, Hubs/Drums, And Brake Assemblies For A Trailer

Question:

I have an issue with your answer. Your inner hub bearing number is correct but not your outer hub bearing number. Mine is LM 67048. The brakes that you listed do not match what the factory sticker on my backing plate. That number is 023-459-00 and 023-458-00. Since the bearings are wrong that means the hub kit is also wrong???

The Hub Bearing # 15123 I recommended has the same inner diameter as the Hub Bearing # LM67048 at 1.250". These bearings match the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-9UC3-EZ that I recommended. If you replace the hubs then the inner diameter is going to be important so that it matches the spindle but the outer diameters could change between the different models of the hubs. The # 15123 is the correct fit for the # 8-201-9UC3-EZ, if you tried using your # LM67048 with it you would find that the outer diameter doesn't quite match up.

You'll want to confirm that the wheel bolt pattern and that the inner diameter of the bearings/seals match the spindle to fully confirm that the # 8-201-9UC3-EZ would fit. Since we know the inner diameters are correct all that's left is the wheel bolt pattern.

The brake assembly part numbers matching up don't matter either. What's important is that you match the capacity, mounting bolt pattern, and dimensions (in your case 12" diameter x 2" wide). For your setup the manual-adjust # 23-105-106 or self-adjust # AKEBRK-7-SA options would both be a fit with the hub/drum assemblies.
