Air Bags, RAS, or Timbrens For 2023 Nissan Titan XD For Heavy Load

Question:

2023 Nissan Titan XD Pro4x. Will be adding a sled deck to haul 2 mountain sleds ~400lbs without sleds ~1600lbs when loaded. Traditional I have always ran air bags for sled decks, but the RAS looks intriguing. How do these systems handle weights like this? I have not seem anyone run this system with a sled deck, but assume some 5th wheels would have similar pin weights. Would you recommend RAS, airbags, or Timbren for the best of when hauling the sleds vs only having the deck in the back?

The RoadActive Suspension Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-HD is more than capable of handling the heavy load from your sled deck when loaded and unloaded. It has a 3,000 lb capacity and the force that would normally go to your 2023 Nissan Titan XD's leaf springs will instead be transferred to the RAS Enhancement Kit, so your leaf springs won't flatten, helping level you out.

There is a limit to how much they can level though; if your truck would sag more than 3 inches with the heavy load, they won't perfectly level it. They are definitely better than Timbrens, but because they may not level your truck (depending on your sag), and they won't offer the adjustability of air bags, I would go with those, with the correct fit for your truck being the following:

- Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL57229

Air bags and a compressor are just the better overall option, particularly for the varying weights you'll have, as the compressor will allow you settings you can go to depending on if you have your sleds loaded. A wireless compressor will be easiest, the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL25980.

Also, to avoid any leaks when installing the air bags you'll want to use Air Hose Cutter # AL10530.
