Troubleshooting A Solera Slide Out Awning That's Touching The Corner Of The Flange

Question:

I have a 2018 Salem Hemisphere 282RK. The slide out topper tube/fabric is rubbing the slide out on the front corner. The rear of the slide out has appx 1/4inch gap and the front is rubbing the plastic corner cap I can try to get a picture but its very difficult to see. Does Lippert have a taller bracket the tube goes awning arm goes into? The arms very close to being centered in the mounting brackets. Thank you for any advise

The reason why the extension rod of your Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LCV000168107 is touching the corner flange piece is either because you have too large of an awning installed or the awning isn't centered on the slide out. If the tension isn't properly split between the two rods then it will pull too much on one side and start touching the flange. Too large of an awning places the extension rods too far out in the mounting brackets and they start to bend.

If I could see some pictures or have you measure the flange to flange of the slide out and measure the awning to determine if yours is too large then we could start looking for a solution to the issue. There unfortunately are not larger brackets to extend the awning away from the flange more. If your extension rods are bent at this point then they can also be replaced with part # LC3452072.
